Give me the better red team. That would be the Sneks, as the Angels lose 8-5.

Why read it? Just read the daily comments found on these boards. Haven’t these things been said everyday for the past several years?
Well it’s Ken Rosenthal (one of the most respected sports journalists) saying it. That’s the story. It’s not just sports yelling on chat boards. Rosenthal is highly respected and the fact that he is turning his attention to this is significant.
Also Arte’s reliance on so-called surveys to justify his stance that Angels fans don’t care about winning is a new and developing story with significant implications both in Anaheim and around the League – particularly with a new Collective Bargaining negotiation rapidly approaching.
My honest take was that this article was just for the clicks. Even the video of the podcast doesn’t seem to dive into all that Arte said.
I think there are a lot of valid statements that have been made about how awful the Arte era has been and is. But, to me, as much as I like Rosenthal, this isn’t one of them.
It has been widely reported that M Maddux doesn’t what his pitchers focusing on velocity. He wants spin and location. So – the Angles have NO radar gun/velocity posted at their spring training facility. It makes sense, right?
Yet here is an article criticizing the Angels for being cheap again and bringing up the AC issue from last year again. Criticism is fine, but you don’t need to look too deep to see this is an actual plan put in place by the new pitching coach.

We have Trackman machines that track velo set up in the bullpen. It also hasn’t been “widely reported” that Maddux doesn’t want to chase velo. I’m pretty sure you are referring to a Bobby Valentine quote found on Twitter.
Your early activity on the site reminds me of how I used to post. Now I can see why others would find me annoying 😂. When you find yourself passionately defending the Angels’ org just remember that they are usually at fault because they have proved to be inept.
Thanks for the backhanded compliment.
I understand you find people “annoying” who defend anything the Angels do. It is very easy to pile on and kick the team when it’s down. It’s fine.
Here’s what I see: a fan base that has seen a decade of losing create a self-pity that seeps into everything. This is what many here sound like – woe is us, poor us, no one cares about us. The owner sucks therefore – the GM sucks, the scouts suck, the players suck, the stadium sucks and people who defend the team suck, too.
I will try to fit in with your narrative at least until the team wins the World Series:
I have been converted.
Moore has struck out in 50% of his first dozen plate appearances. Frazier has struck out in 10% of them. Moore has a .250 OBP and Frazier has a .500 OBP. Frazier is a lefty.
I suspect Moore is bound for more time at AAA unless one sees a pivot in approach in the coming week or two.
Moore was willing to sign for $2m less than Griffin so I am sure that factored in. There is constant chatter of using money saved on later round picks. But it sometimes costs you the better player.
Moore also fit Perry’s profile – ie college versus high school.
But wait…you gotta believe and embrace the feelz. Remember, don’t kick Arte and Perry when the franchise is down, it’s uncivilized and reeks of self pity.
