F bombs directed at Arte don’t count in this thread.

Executive decision.

Fuck Arte. This was really stupid. I usually at least look for the wacky reasoning for doing something, but this shit was stupid and we all know PTP had to have had OK offers for guys based on what Austin Slater and Paul Blackburn are bringing in.

Fuck Arte and fuck Carol too for not convincing him to sell when they had offers of $2.6 billion and above. I’m so glad I have completely distanced myself from this poverty franchise. As long as Arte is at the helm, I will continue to not watch any games , buy any merch, and boycott the Angels any way I can until that fucker sells the team for good.

I am just astounded that Pillar is still on the team. I refuse to believe he just couldn’t match up with another club on the right return. The guy is retiring and you wouldn’t send him to a contender even for a bucket of balls out of respect? We held onto an expiring and RETIRING player just to rot on this version of the Angels?

Reeks of Perry being in over his head and simply fumbling the deadline.

Can’t wait to see what low level first time GM we get to follow this clown show of a front office.

That’s why you attach $$$ into the trade to buy better prospects. Had Arte agreed to that then that changes the entire value of Anderson. But of course fuck face Arte would never agree to such a thing.

I now officially have no desire to pay attention to thinking there is a future of any winning for years to follow. Arturo is mad with power and greed. How can this team be worth even 2b much less 2.5b? Leave Arte, please leave for the sake of the fans. GMB now says after the games in Paris we should become Dodgers fans “It’s time for a ballgame”. Wow!

Will the circle be unbroken? As a kid there was Howdy Doody, Jerry Mahoney, Knucklehead Smith, Kuka-Fran and Ollie, Bunny Rabbit and they all returned to run the Angels organization, talk about string pulling. Perry is going to quit me thinx.

Anderson and Rengifo will be traded next year. I don’t see the Angels being ready to compete in 2026 at this point. They’ll be wasting the years when the youngsters are cheap. Next year will look a to like this year without Sandy and Silseth.

Haven’t been here much recently because of how horrible decision making is from top to bottom is in this organization. Probably won’t be around much in the future. You guys are all great, I just can’t stand to put much more energy in this dog shit team.

Came here to type basically this exact same thing. Love the community but I find myself hating the franchise.

The deadline was fun because of the hopeful energy of a rebuild to dream on right after the draft and yet they found a way to step on that. It’s honestly like Moreno is spiting the fans at this point. What a miserable failure of a baseball executive.

Usually Perry is very positive so for him to say maybe in 2025, pretty much says they won’t.

OCR Fletcher on Perry’s presser:

There had been reported interest in all four players, but the Angels apparently did not find an offer they felt was sufficient. Anderson, Rengifo and Ward all remain under control for at least one more season.

Although the perception of many around the sport was that it was a “seller’s market,” it doesn’t appear that applied to the industry’s demand for the players the Angels had to sell. The only players they traded were Garcia and closer Carlos Estévez, who was shipped to the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

“We took a look at what was presented and just what what was presented that we actually did made sense for us,” general manager Perry Minasian said. “Obviously that was the route we went. We have some talented players. I understand the questions. The players that have two years left to have one year left, they’re very talented players. And very productive players. With that being said, in general it had to make sense. There had to be a certain value coming back. You have to line up. That’s not easy. People like different things. Sometimes you line up with different teams, like we did with Philadelphia, and sometimes you don’t.”

More good news if it hasn’t been shared already

Also, Chase Silseth (in AAA) is getting checked out. He’s had some issues with his elbow.

Needs to follow trAdition……..you wait longer than everyone else in MLB. Talk a little bit about its improvement 3 or 4 days out. You see Dr Nick at the free clinic on day 8, if he can squeeze you in….schedule MRI for day 13 because the swelling hasn’t come down…wait for MRI results, read them on day 18 ( Dr Nick is very busy). Announce results on day 23, inconclusive, could need TJS maybe not. Wait….Wait…..Wait……everyone has forgotten about him, then announce surgery day 65 from original injury…… successful surgery, slower than normal rehabilitation.

It wasn’t the flu or dehydration when Chase left in the third inning on Sunday .

Silseth, Stephenson and Sandy will all be spending quality time rehabbing their elbows in Arizona next year.

Asked him about how much Arte Moreno played a role in their trade deadline strategy.

He said he was given the autonomy to make decisions.

If this is really true, if Arte gave him carte blanche order for today, then Perry just plain fucking sucks.

You cannot even get HALF of the haul for what the Jays got for freaking Kikuchi??? Did Perry play hard to get too much because he thought the deadline was 6PM PDT????

I believe him. It’s one thing to take on salary and need the owners blessing. But these trades were reducing salary and putting coin in Arte’s pockets.

This is what you get when you hire first-time GMs over and over again.

Arte is a problem. So is Perry. So was Eppler. Owner with cursed personnel skills hires the wrong guy most every time.

For a 37-year-old relief pitcher on an expiring contract, I think we got a decent return. Lugo is among the Red Sox Top 20 Prospects and the team three additional lottery picks. Just what was everyone expecting for a good but not exceptional pitcher? Sounds like folks are upset the team didn’t make every trade they were supposed to rather than the return on this one trade.

I don’t think the Garcia trade was necessarily that bad. I think the frustration is not trading Anderson.

Yeah – whatever on Garcia. My issue is not trading Rengifo, Anderson or Ward. Maybe Rendon’s injury played into keeping Rengifo. But not trading those three and thereby adding to the Farm makes little sense to me.

I looked around the internet to see if I could find Perry’s press conference. Couldn’t but what I *did* find were a series of depressing headlines like “Minasian believes in current team” (2021) and “Angels won’t trade Ohtani “, and (from this January) “Angels to be aggressive in free agency”.

Every single item ended up badly

Maybe the “scar tissue breaking” was just a cover for something bigger. How can Trout have a setback in his rehab if it was really just the scar tissue.

At this point, if they say they really need to amputate his leg, nothing would be surprising anymore.

Shut him down for the year.
