Over the weekend, the Angels dealt Carlos Estevez to the Phillies. The Phillies also got Austin Hayes from the Orioles.
The Rangers acquired catcher Carson Kelly from the Tigers for a couple of prospects. Speaking of catchers, the Red Sox just designated Reese McGuire for assignment. The Mariners got Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Braves right-hander Reynaldo Lopez has forearm tightness and will undergo an MRI. Pirates second baseman Nick Gonzales has a groin strain. Kodai Senga got a calf strain in his season debut.
The Cubs acquired Isaac Paredes from the Rays for three players including Christopher Morel. The Mets acquired Jesse Winker from the Nationals. The Yankees, for their part, got Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins for three prospects.

I’m bored. Here’s a trade to help those nice Twins and restock our farm as much as possible in one move….
Twins get Ward, Rengifo, Anderson, Garcia and 10M in cash to help their strapped budget.
We get Zebby Matthews (AAA, SP, 55 Grade), Gabriel Gonzalez (A+ OF 50 Grade) Andrew Morris (AA SP 45 Grade but will rise this year) Marco Raya (SP AA 50 Grade), Noah Cardenas (C AA 40 grade) and Ben Ross (Util AA 45 grade. Has power and plays everywhere.)
We root for the Twins in the post season and have at least 5 50 grades in the farm.
Well….make it happen!

A little MLB Trade Rumors before bed. Tomorrow could be interesting.
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/angels-notes-rengifo-ward-pillar-garcia-trout.html
I get the feeling that we will be keeping Ward, Rengifo, and Anderson but dealing Garcia and maybe Strickland
How many hours into “Garcia Watch” are we into now?
Black smoke still coming out of the chimney.
White Smoke, Pope; Black Smoke, Nope
Imagine if they made GMs fast until the deadline deals are done…..
Perry would outlast them all. Thats for sure.
definitely could fast much longer, and big people are more difficult to kidnap
Considering we have 5+ guys we could move, I’m starting to legitimately worry that we won’t move anyone else. Can Perry really swing that many trades in such few hours? Is Arte letting him? This seller’s market needs to be taken advantage of fully
Nope Arte’s not letting him. Sign up for my Patreon to get the inside scoop on all the secret stuff Arte’s up to.
Already subbed
Sam Bachman July………any news with inside his numbers?
4 starts – 2.91 ERA – 21.2 innings – 1 HR – 13 walks – 20 K’s – hitting .167 against – whip 1.15… went 6 innings 2 times , 7 innings 1 time, 2 2/3 in in another.
If he gets his walks down, at that level, then he may have enough control to go twice through the order against realmenof baseball. That’s the likely thinking. If he get/keeps that WHIP down by one…. though if we drain the whole pitching staff we could also see him Friday…. life a trip carnal.
I think he has lowered his walks lately . In His last start he pitched 6 innings struck out 8 and walked 0. Those walk nos above are being skewed by his start on July 21 where he lasted only 2-2/3 innings but walked 7 batters. In his other 6 starts (including his last one) since Mid June Bachman has only walked 9 batters in 33 innings (an acceptable 2.45 BB/9) while striking out 31 for a 3.45 K/BB ratio and a similar 2.72 ERA.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets the call up this weekend especially if Trader Perry moves TA tomorrow
Yah. Way things are now we may see him. I’ve been following his starts and I know he’s on an up tick. He’s also seen MLB batters, which helps get him back up. I just know the broad, general guideline is that you’d like to see three strait starts where he looks really good “the same way” before you bring him up. Looks like a prospects has his brain in order.
I guess Perry heard the Crashers and decided not to be AA’s little bitch this time. Farhan must have got jealous.

Giants sweeping out the barn. Soler and soon to follow, Blake Smell. Cutting their losses.
Farhan = genius.
Well I dont hate the I.E. especially now.

Getting his start on the Mean Streets of SB…getting dirty with some of that IE grittiness. I like it. Assume if all goes well, onward and upward, maybe a Panda by year’s end?
https://www.milb.com/video/george-klassen-s-fifth-strikeout?t=playerid-691946
Or an Anaheim dweller.
Schanuel signed earlier so he got 3 games at the Arizona Complex and 2 games at the iE before moving to Madison for the entire month of August last year. At some point I’m sure he’ll get elevated to AA but I wonder if the Angels will add him in September when rosters slightly expand.
Might just need to go in country and watch… SB unfortunately is a bad as advertised.
I’ll say. Of the top 10 things to do in the City of San Bernardino, coming in at No. 1 is, Stay in Doors
I hope they find some good host families.
You know you love it.
Doyer got their Rengifo knockoff….good, didn’t want him to go to the Doyers…their two best players would be x Angels.
Dodgers acquiring Amed Rosario from Rays, source tells
https://x.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1818080496691331297
Actually that was Tommy Edman
He’d need to play first. He’s Trouting right now
So Two Rengifo’s for the price of Three?
Those Doyers are really showing Arte Up.
Doyer Double Rengifo’ed?
Is that like a twangy Ross Porter Dodger double play?
WE WILL TRADE SOME PLAYERS
Perry doesn’t know what to to do. He has too many people to trade.
Montas to the Brew Crew
Rengifo and Ward are not in the lineup tonight. Mmmmm….
That might be the earliest lineup post this year 😀
You can’t start Ward or Regifo………they play for??
https://youtu.be/kVIGs6RSdT4?si=PaOH9NchOj75TCMX
Kikuchi has a 4.75 ERA and is a rental …We gotta trade Anderson, have to
The Blue Jays’ exact return is unknown, but it is expected to include touted pitching prospect Jake Bloss… It is also expected to include two more prospects, according to a league source.

I like the Jays side of this one. The Jays are one of our direct competitors in the race for the ping pong champagne. Perry needs to combat this move and deal Anderson and Heefo.
Yah, the Jays, at least to start, fleeced the Astros on this trade.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10130079-mlb-trade-rumors-teams-have-a-lot-of-frustration-with-the-high-asking-prices
Translation: Yankees whine about being asked about good prospects
I do think that, this year and last, a lot of GMs were really struck by how few teams were really interested in moving “big names” because they were within spitting distance of a wild card. The Snakes post season last year can’t have helped with that.
I kind of get it. When I heard the rumors of what the Sox were asking for Crochet I was a bit barfy. A guy with a single half season of great pitching…. when his real skill seems to be rehabing or taking it easy to avoid rehabing…. Sure, he could potentially be really good for a team for years… but his track record is thin for the asking price.
Then he comes out and states he’ll need an extension….
It’s a tough time for GMs that were used to just trading for Verlander and going for the WS.
My suggestion would be to chill – rest up for tomorrow. I’m guessing it’s going to be a busy news day for the Halos.
Hopium is a powerful drug.
And I need to score.
Kikuchi to Trashstros for Jake Bloss, 23 yrs old, looked great in the minors, kochanowicz’ed when with Houston
Lane Thomas to Cleveland.
https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/guardians-trade-for-lane-thomas-first-place-cleveland-team-acquires-nationals-outfielder/
Clemmey I liked a lot. Liked Ramirez Jr too…. they got a lot for Lane Thomas.
Who did the Angels get in return, or did Perry just gift Estevez to the Phils?
Starting pitching prospects.
Cleveland got their outfielder, Dodgers got their Swiss army player.
Ward and Rengifo are still on the Angels roster.
And we got the shaft?

Can you dig it?
Nobody wasting anyone…
