Well, did Tyler Anderson raise or lower his tradeability today? I guess he was OK. The Angels offense was not helpful. They came back late to steal a win, though.
Inning #1:
Anthony Rendon grounded out to second base. Nolan Schanuel grounded out to the shortstop. Taylor Ward singled down the line to right field. Willie Calhoun struck out looking, although the strike call was pretty questionable. Tyler Anderson hit J.P. Crawford on the wrist with a pitch. He stayed in the ball game. Victor Robles singled on a dribbler to Rendon. Jorge Polanco flied out to Adell in right. Cal Raleigh singled on a liner to center and scored J.P. Crawford. 1-0 Mariners. Mitch Garver struck out swinging. Dylan Moore struck out on a foul tip.
Inning #2:
Now J.P. Crawford left the game. Logan O’Hoppe lined out to right field. Mickey Moniak popped out to third base. Brandon Drury struck on another very questionable call. Johnny Washington got himself ejected for chirping at the umpire from the dugout. Ron Washington later came out and had a polite chat with Estabrook without getting either himself or Drury ejected. He probably said Anderson damn well better get those same pitches called. Mitch Haniger flied out to Moniak in center. Josh Rojas struck out swinging. Jonatan Clase also struck out swinging.
Inning #3:
Zach Neto flied out to center. Jo Adell flied out to right. Anthony Rendon singled on a liner to center. Nolan Schanuel grounded out to second. Luke Raley grounded out to second base. Victor Robles flied out to center. Jorge Polanco grounded out to second base.
Inning #4:
Taylor Ward flied out to the first baseman, Raley. Willie Calhoun popped out to the third baseman in fair territory. Logan O’Hoppe was hit on the arm by a pitch. Mickey Moniak flied out to shallow left field. Cal Raleigh lined out very sharply to Anthony Rendon. Mitch Garver struck out swinging. Dylan Moore struck out swinging.
Inning #5:
Brandon Drury came up again, swinging at stuff that was well outside the strike zone. He grounded out to the shortstop. Zach Neto lined out sharply to the shortstop. Jo Adell flied out to right. Mitch Haniger struck out. Josh Rojas grounded out on a really nice play by Drury. Jonatan clase flied out to right.
Inning #6:
Anthony Rendon grounded out to second baseman Jorge Polanco. Nolan Schanuel struck out looking. Taylor Ward doubled on a grounder to left but Willie Calhoun struck out looking. Luke Raley struck out swinging. Victor Robles singled on a grounder through to center. Jorge Polanco lined out to center. Cal Raleigh walked. The Angels brought in Hans Crouse to pitch instead of Tyler Anderson. Mitch Garver struck out.
Inning #7:
Logan O”Hoppe was hit by a pitch. Mickey Moniak was batting while Logan O’Hoppe stole second base and incidentally Moniak struck out. Brandon Drury lined out directly to the center fielder. Zack Neto, unfortunately, grounded out to third.
Hunter Strickland came in to pitch for Hans Crouse. Dylan Moore struck out looking. Mitch Haniger did the same. Josh Rojas flied out to Moniak in center.
Inning #8:
Ryne Stanek came in to pitch and Jo Adell walked. Anthony Rendon walked. Nolan Schanuel was called out on strikes and got himself ejected for arguing balls and strikes.
Andres Munoz came in to replace Stanek. Taylor Ward was batting when the Angels executed a successful double steal. Ward hit a deep sacrifice fly to left-center. Jo Adell scored and Anthony Rendon advanced to third. 1:1 tie.
Willie Calhoun grounded out to the shortstop. Luis Garcia came in to pitch for Strickland. Jonatan Clase singled to the second baseman. Luke Raley fouled out to third. Victor Robles struck out looking. Jorge Polanco was batting while Clase advanced to second on a pitch that O’Hoppe couldn’t corral. Polanco struck out looking.
Inning #9:
Trent Thornton came in to pitch for Mariners Closer Andres Munoz. Logan O’Hoppe struck out swinging. Mickey Moniak grounded out 4-3. Brandon Drury walked. So did Zach Neto. Jo Adell hit a liner to shallow center scored both Drury and Neto. 3-1 Angels. Rendon flied out to end the top of the ninth inning.
Carlos Estevez came in for the save. Cal Raleigh flied out. So did Mitch Garver. Dylan Moore struck out swinging to end the game. The Angels won 3-1.
Rengifo almost back.

Adell is looking a lot better lately.
I don’t really care about his season stats. But I am interested in how he plays the last two months of the season.
Jo is becoming a Mariner Killer…..
He has actually been surprisingly clutch that last couple of weeks; the big 3 run HR at home to take down the Mariners in that series right before the break, and now the game winning hit last night.
It is good to see.
In just a season or two Neto will be top 3 SS in MLB, you wait and see.
Love the optimism . Witt Jr, Gunner Henderson, Seager, Betts, Abrams, Turner…which 4 would you throw out? .I’m already throwing out Correa, Volpe, Dansby, Adames amd Peña. Some good ones out there.
Turner (31 and see last season), Betts (does he stay at SS or go back to 2B/OF), and he is already comprable with Adams. Seager is also 30, so will fade back eventually.
There is certainly an opportunity for that to happen but as Fungo mentions there are currently a lot of good ones. If he can learn to be more patient and a little more selective, he can be elite. He just needs to walk more and his whole performance picture dramatically improves. He’s only 23 but I would like for someone on the club to help him improve his BB rate.
July 22: Club leader in RBI is….. Jo Adell.
Trout might be back by this Thursday and Rengifo is any day. I think Drury is a DFA candidate if there are no deadline takers
I think you guessed the wrong 2b…just saying.
A claim so outrageous it must be looked up. It’s true!
Yeah I’d say he did ok, didn’t lower his value. Though I dint watch innings 3-8, he seemed good. 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 8 Ks. nice
Value? We are keeping him.
Buy! Buy! Buy Mortimer! We are in the playoff hunt! Only 9 games out! 😀
No, no, no, I said SELL Mortimer, SELL!!! GET BACK IN THERE AND SELL!!!
Yes lookout landing IS fun tonight. They seem upset, mostly about how Seattle doesn’t score much. Many are resigned to a sub .500 record.
As for us, we got what we needed, a good time and a fine showcase for Anderson and Ward too, for that matter
4 in a row from Jerry’s Kids!
JO FOR PRESIDENT 2024!
Let’s Go Jordyn!
