LA Angels Thursday News Crash: Infection

Ron Washington says the Jose Soriano is dealing with an infection. Maybe he ate at Chipotle. I doubt if he’s been on a cruise ship lately.

Here is a ranking of all the pitching staffs for June. It’s depressing.

The Blue Jays released Daniel Vogelbach yesterday in case we want a designated hitter who is well below the Mendoza Line. The Cubs signed Mets castoff Tomas Nido and designated Yan Gomes for assignment in case we want a catcher who has been appallingly bad at the plate this season. The Marlins designated left-hander Kent Emanuel for assignment. He’s nothing special. I for one do not wish to re-live the Suarez debacle. The White Sox released a left-hander of their own by the name of Tim Hill. Niko Goodrum has elected free agency.

Kyle Bradish just had Tommy John surgery. Anthony Rizzo’s broken arm just landed him on the 60 day IL.

Triple-A baseball will be using the automated ball strike challenge system full time next season.

Rawlings is collaborating with the Grateful Dead to make a series of baseball gloves with Dead logos on them. No hats for bats? I guess nobody wants Dead bats, except maybe Ozzy Osbourne.

In this weird season there are only 11 teams over .500, 19 teams under it. It’s just too bad in a year when Texas and Houston are terrible, we’re even worse. Oh well.

A couple of days ago, we are only 4 games behind Texas and Houston and I thought the same thing.

I just read an article that the Yankees may go after Rengifo. How glorious would that be? Two birds. My disdain for the team couldn’t get any higher.

Yeah, he can hit, but he’ll be even more under the microscope in NY and the media will have a field day with his fielding.

Just please don’t trade Ward, Neto, Silseth or Adell.

Since Rengifo has settled into one position (3B), his fielding has been solid but, do go on with the false narrative.

Rengifo will be an absolute boon for the doyers or skanks if we trade him.

Anybody else think it’s weird that we only play two against the Dodgers and have Sunday off?

Hoping to win 1, don’t want a 4 game sweep., cause in Sept we will have nobody after trade deadline. Obviously ‘Easy Way’ Shohei will bomb on us. Our scrubs got to get lucky, how do you compete with ridiculous Doyer team that has stolen 3 MVP’s from other teams? Plus the injection program for washed players like Heyward, Paxton, juiced Teoscar, and injury prone/now Cy young Glasnow? Go Sandoval, take one for us please.

If there was ever an envious little brother post, this might be it.

“Stolen” from other teams? Betts came in a trade, Freeman wasn’t wanted anymore in Atlanta, and Ohtani offered the Angels the SAME DEAL.

Who here isn’t aware and envious of our douche-bag big brother Doyer team to the north? We all know our place. Sure I’m jealous!! That’s why we (most of us) hate them. I know there are dual citizens here and like both teams. Should they get a cookie? Personally I love hating the Doyers. I also love to remind my many Doyer friends that the Angels WS win in 2002 is more recent than the Doyers in 1988, just a fact. The Doyer ain’t so F’ing special. They won’t win anything this year, again, and it’s a choke job if they don’t, and that’s the way I like it!

Free more Hate for the Doyers! It angries up the blood!

F’ the Doyers, and everything about them
F’ Super Dave Robert’s and his magic laptop
F’ the illegal shit they do (just not caught…. YET!)
F’ the Doyer stadium parking lot and the 2.5 hours it takes to get out, if your not stabbed, then it’s faster, because they take you out in an ambulance
F’ the Wet Market meat used to make Doyer Dogs.
and
F’ Eric Karros

i’ve always been mostly ‘meh’ on the doyers, mainly because friends/family like them.

this year though, i’ve ignored them and only watched them play once, only mainly because my daughter attended a game in the Bronx earlier in the month.

so now, ignore them ………….. and just waiting for the Dbacks to sink them again in the 2024 NL playoffs.

I LOVE how ANY team that is successful not named the Angels is:

Helped by “the boys in NY” to tip the scales in their favor.
OBVIOUSLY cheating with some “magic sauce” (does that mean the Angels “real” championship should be awarded to the Giants since Series MVP Troy Glaus was a CONFIRMED user?)

Just askin’

Yes there is bitterness against Dodgers. Your little brother analogy is off. More like you keep kicking the dog it eventually bites back. I’m proud Angels fan and have large collection of authentic hats/jerseys that I wear. You wouldn’t believe how many cocky comments and heckling comes with it from Dodgers fans. F them, yeah I know your team is great but don’t need to hear how Angels suck. Do you think Cubs fans walk around Chicago blasting Sox fans? Nah, only in Los Doyers LA.

I think this is only about 50% baseball related. The other 50% is socio/political. The truth is that people in LA tend to hate people in OC. Based on nothing but stupid assumptions of course but, it’s a fact.

I’m from LA and spent most of my life there and the vast majority of our friends still live there. The so-called “open minded” people of LA are some of the most closed minded and ignorant muppets of all.

I’ll leave it at that because to say more would put me at odds with forum policy.

I’m guessing that I may get labeled a “dual citizen” but, that would be inaccurate.

I’m not a doyer fan. Period. That said, I don’t hate them either. Nor do I expend time and energy hexing them. They’re a winning organization. I wish we were also a winning organization. Shrug.

Wrong on Freeman-Freeman’s agent forgot to tell him he didn’t offer the Braves a chance to match the Dodgers offer.

Remember the interview and that revelation last year?

Freeman & Shohei made their choices. Getting paid and having a legit shot at competing for a WS every year kinda’ sells itself.

If Atlanta & Anaheim wanted to retain these players they should have locked them up earlier.

We are so getting a top 100 prospect for T Anderson !!!

Silver linings – they are all we have.

Anderson’s .225 batting average on balls in play and 87.0 percent strand rate are both unsustainable marks, and his 4.69 FIP speaks to the likely regression to come.

It will take Perry’s best work to get a top prospect in trade. Can Perry get it done? Please pass the hopium bong.

Well aware of TA’s shaky peripherals and you aren’t wrong.

Thinking that his shiny ERA can trick at least one GM. This being a buyers market doesn’t do Perry any favors either. We’ll have to sit back and see what Perry can do.

Why would the Doyers not be interested? . TA replicated the same season he had with them 2 years ago. And it’s not like Doyers thought he was radioactive. They made him a Qualifying offer which is why we had no second round draft pick last year. if Cheap ass would eat some portion of TA’s remaining Contract I betcha the Doyers would even throw on a honest to goodness legit prospect.

Soft-tossing lefties tend to age much better than hard throwers. And the rate at which today’s pitchers’ elbows are dying would seem to create an imbalance between them and everyday players. Get smart Perry and trade TA for some young hitters!

I know. As much as we beat up on Sandoval, he has been very unlucky and his FIP is much lower than Andersons. Actually, best on the staff at 3.83. His biggest problem is pitch efficiency. Anderson has been very lucky and we need to move him as soon as possible.

You’d prefer Anderson was pitching worse now with lesser numbers? Then you’d claim, yes he sucks but his numbers are sustainable?

Hey, Anderson is pitching well and should continue to be a quality starter the rest of the year and next. That should yield decent talent coming back.

ABS is coming and it’s about time. Tennis loves the challenge system and getting the calls right. If the accuracy is better, make the calls better. I don’t come to games to watch catchers turn balls into strikes. Let catchers focus more on blocking and throwing runners out.

It’s likely that it was never as good or bad as we might think. 75″ HD TVs and super slow motion wasn’t a thing until recent times. Pretty sure that when I was watching Tanana on a 19″ fuzzy screen with foil on the antenna, I only reacted when it was blatant.

I hope it comes sooner than later to quiet the vast International Conspiracy of Umpires to Only Screw the Angels. Oh, and the hysteria when those calling for it, finally realize those borderline calls Angel pitchers get, and they NEVER seem to complain about, also disappear. Wonder what the apologists will do, when it eliminates a convenient excuse for a crappy team doing what crappy teams do.

Good morning to all, great weather day a head. So, our pitching staff didn’t jell, and we are rated #28 out of 30, not a big surprise really, I has a big case of hopium that it would all come together-so what do I know about pitching? I do know that Detmer being in SLC is not what I was expecting though, but more like 15-16 wins and avg of 7 innings. Send him to the Dodgers-he’ll win with a whip of less than one. we got two teams just a whisker a head of us to catch to move into overall 3rd place in the lotto. Trade, sell, bargain, negotiate hard Perry-you can do it, get those yuts.
