In the series finale vs the former AL team Brewers, the Angels sent out Tyler Anderson. This was a chance to get a series win, 2 in a row, something the Angels were unable to do since their Texas trip in May. So how did trade piece Anderson do? He went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 5, and walking 3. It was a pitching duel for sure but, Freddy Peralta kept the Angels in check. Meaning the Angels would have to rally late to win.
Too bad they couldn’t.
“High”lighted Recap
The Brewers got the first run of the game with a sac fly in the first.
It could have been more, but Pillar made a sliding catch to end the inning.
Besides that, both pitchers kept the offense down, and through 7, it remained 1-0 Brewers. Until the Brewers scored again in the 8th.
The Angels couldn’t score and were shutout.
Upcoming
The Angels face the Dodgers on Friday and Saturday at Dodger Stadium. No game Thursday. Or Sunday. Yes, only 5 games this week, really confusing, huh? The whole team should be well rested then, at least the healthy members.
Big Picture report, win-win. Anderson added to his already strong value as a trade candidate and the Angels lost keeping them in the upper tier of the tankometer.
Tyler Anderson has been fantastic this season. Too bad he wasn’t 5 years younger. Trade him whilst his stock is at an all-time high.
Ping pong balls!
I bet they don’t use them anymore. I bet it’s computerized in which case we’re screwed.
