Postgame

Patrick Sandoval versus Justin Verlander. Justin Verlander sucks. The Astros suck.

The Angels did get a run in the second inning by Pillar, a single by O’Hoppe, and a sacrifice fly by Schanuel.

Then in the third inning the Astros got three runs off of, in order, a Mauricio Dubon walk, a Jose Abreu single, a Jose Altuve single, an Alex Bregman double, an intentional walk to Yordan Alvarez, and a Jeremy Pena single. 3-1 Astros.

In the bottom of the fourth, Willie Calhoun singled, Kevin Pillar was hit by a pitch and Logan O’Hoppe singled. Nolan Schanuel hit a sacrifice fly. 3-2 Astros. Mickey Moniak successfully bunt squeezed another run in. 3-3 Tie.

Now we get to the bottom of the fifth where Rengifo singled and stole second before Willie Calhoun singled to drive in a run. 4-3 Angels.

In the top of the sixth, Mauricio Dubon reached on a single and Jose Abreu doubled to make it a 4-4 tie. Hunter Strickland came in to pitch. Chas McCormick also doubled to make it 5-4 Astros. Jose Altuve homered to make it 7-4. I guess Strickland sucks all of a sudden. He then plunked Alex Bregman on the wrist. Yordan Alvarez grounded out.

In the bottom of the sixth, Mickey Moniak smashed one off the glove of the pitcher into center. Logan O’Hoppe scored’ 7-5 Astros. Moniak tried to steal second but was out to end the inning.

Matt Moore managed to get through the seventh inning without further damage.

Luis Rengifo got hit by a pitch in the seventh inning. Taylor Ward beat out a double play ball to turn it into a mere fielder’s choice. Willie Calhoun walked. Kevin Pillar struck out. This didn’t go anywhere.

In the eighth, Garcia pitched. He did fine. Logan O’Hoppe doubled in the Angels part of the inning. Schanuel struck out. Zach Neto drove in another run off of Ryan Pressly with a double. 7-6 Astros. Mickey Moniak walked to bring up Michael Stefanic. The Plumber lives! Stefanic was out but Zach Neto scored to make it 7-7.

What can Luis Rengifo do against Josh Hader? “bout to find out ladies and gents. Error on Dubon at third. First and third and two outs for Taylor Ward. He struck out.

Kevin Pillar singled but Logan O’Hoppe homered/didn’t homer for your basic walk off win! Damn! The Angels won on the challenge.

As I watched Logan’s ball to the corner, it reminded me of Spiezio’s ball the other way in Game 6.

Was at game, finally got my pennies worth.! Lots of Astros fans surprisingly. I get it, they come to see their team at Angels cause they can’t at Fk Chavez barrio, without threats and harassment. Sandy was lousy today and Ward sucks at hitting with men on or clutch situations. OHoppe carried and kids got free Neto jersey, good day.

Here’s to a KC or Baltimore vs Milwaukee World Series after all the slobbering going on with a Yankee vs Doyer World Series wet dream.

4-2 home stand. Would have been nice to go 4-2 and win both series. But losers take what scraps we can get.

Neto and O’Hoppe are both quality young players. It’s nice to have two guys to build around.

The look on Cabbage’s face when he looked in his glove and the ball wasn’t there: sweet.

The look of those two adults, one with a Trout jersey on, around the kid who had the ball: priceless. Real fans make a play for that ball at home. Eff the Trash-holes!

It’s called a Reverse Bartman: you could look it up, as Alibi Ike said.

Wouldn’t it have been an out of the fans interfered with the play?

O’Hoppe is the POTG, but Wash gets kudos for adjusting the line-up and putting players into slots where they can be more successful.

You can take Cabbage out of the Angels. But you can’t take the Angels out of Cabbage.

Very Angel like what he did there on that muff

Highlight of the game for me was bunting on Verlander.

Hate is not a strong enough word. He is currently my most hated non cheater playing baseball right now and that is only because we haven’t proved he cheated yet.

And I’m sure that run explosion won’t be seen again until sometime in mid July. Back to 4 or 5 hits a night, 6 or 7 if we’re feeling frisky
