I never liked the idea of bringing in your closer in a laffer just because he hasn’t gotten work lately. The psychology for the closer is just wrong. And the Giants just saw what a bad idea that is.
Yeah, I think the downturn of Estevez last season started by Nevin using him in this way …

I thought Ben Joyce looked okay today. Still doesn’t have the control we’d like but man: the movement on his heater!
And was throwing a splitter also.

I’ve said the three times today…bad decision by Wash to go with cowpen today
Its absolutely amazing how this team can destroy any recent hope or growth it has amassed in less than 8 innings of Sunday baseball.
For me, today, it only took 4 innings. But yea, I get what you mean.

Hell I still haven’t got over Game 2 of the 1979 ALCS.
I remember that game. 9-0, Angels score 8 over the last 4 innings to lose, 9-8.
Dave Frost did not have it that game. I skipped high school (10th grade) to watch the game at my parents house with my Orioles friend.
We were at Game 3…it was like we had died and gone to Heaven.
Well, the 2 additional runs came after I posted but yeah…still down by 1
Rengifo has left wrist contusion. I’m guessing he’ll be back playing before Rendon comes back. (joke)
TJS is scheduled!!

If Suarez doesn’t get DFA’d after this game, ya really gotta wonder WTF is going on.
