Final home game of the season.
Angels vs. Twins Game 4 Gamethread
Too bad. I like Samy but I believe this is the last time we’ll see him pitch for us in Anaheim
if we lose today, which seems likely, we will only need to split the last 6 games to avoid 100 losses. The two walk offs this week may have saved us.
Siri can’t catch an easy fly ball. Then, he jogs in for a throw past second base which allows the runner to score all the way from second base. He’s done these things many times before. He is a cancer. DFA.
if he was on a team where things like that weren’t allowed to slide then he could be a decent last OF off the bench, but Suzuki and Trout run the team on good vibes where there is no accountability and you are patted on the butt after hitting into a double play that the 2B botches and still easily turns the double play because you walked out of the box.
Sammy Peralta is like that 45 overall ranked player in MLB the Show were you wonder how on God’s green earth did this player ever touch foot on a major league field.
Wow Siri decided he wanted to make it look cool, when it was just a fly ball.
Happy RJ failed to yield base on balls, struck out 6. Just seven seeing eye straggly looking singles got him. RJ is looking like a lock for next years rotation.
First thing this team has to improve next year is the OF defense. Get Trout to DH, don’t offer Lowe a contract as I think he’s arb eligible. Get someone that can actually play some good OF defense. We need at least one anchor out there. Also please never play Moises at 1B and Grissom at 2B, that has to be the right side of the infield with the least range ever. And Moore isn’t much better.
Neto leads the team in pretty much every single batting statistic and yet:
Angels players voted for Mike Trout as the team’s 2026 MVP.
Not exactly. He leads in Ks, being thrown out trying to steal by a ton, and all the counting numbers because other than Trout who he’s been up almost 70 times more, he’s been up 200 times or more more than everyone else on the team. That and playing SS give him a tremendous advantage for accumulating WAR.Trout is a 15% better hitter than Neto relative to the league.
He doesn’t lead in OBA or OPS, or BA. He does lead in Slugging pct. This is a really bad team so he is tied with Meckler as the 2nd best hitters on the team behind Trout. He’s one of the 3 best players on a really bad team.
Not saying he’s not a good player, but he’s certainly not a runaway choice for the best player, and an argument could be made either way. He’s a mixed bag for sure.
If they voted him as the MVP it would be legitimate, but picking Trout over him is not a big deal. Just my opinion. When I saw how many more ABs he had than everyone else, if he wasn’t leading in all the counting categories, he would not be a very good player. He’s clearly one of the top 3 players on this team and if anyone thinks he’s the best player, I don’t have a strong argument against that. I was just pointing out that he has huge advantages over his teammates and is a mixed bag because of all the errors, how many times he’s been thrown out, the Ks, and the fact that other than slugging, he doesn’t lead in any of the rate categories. But I’ll be happy to say he’s the MVP, because he plays the most important defensive position on the field, has been extremely durable this year and is one of the top 2 hitters on the club.
Not sure what the announcers are referring to when they say the team has been playing better lately. They were 11-17 .392 in August and 6-10 .375 in September.
