Kikuchi versus Ashcraft. There was a lot more offense than usual. Zach Neto got three hits. Only Christian Moore was hitless.
Nothing much happened until the fourth inning when Wade Meckler kind of bloop doubled. Moises Ballesteros singled to right and Meckler scored. 1-0 Angels.
A wild pitch advanced Ballesteros to second. Christian Moore struck out to end the top of the fourth.
In the top of the fifth inning Josh Low hit his 11th homer of the year to make it 2-0 Angels.
Denzer Guzman singled and Adam Frazier moved hi over with a sac bunt. A balk by Ashcraft advanced Guzman to third. Zach Neto knocked him in to make it 3-0 Angels.
Mike Trout then singled. Wade Meckler made an out. Vaughn Grissom came up with two outs and two men on. He struck out.
In the top of the seventh inning, Adam Frazier got a one out double. Zach Neto followed that with a single to bring up Mike Trout with runners at the corners. He singled past the shortstop to make it 4-0 Angels.
Wade Meckler doubled to make it 6-0 Angels.
Grissom struck out and Ballesteros grounded out.
Ryan Watson came in to pitch the bottom of the seventh inning and had a nice smooth inning. Luke Murphy came in to pitch the eighth inning. He gave up a homer to Brayan Renolds which has probably made it into the Ohio river at this point and is headed to New Orleans. 6-1 Angels.
Zach Neto got his third hit and Mike Trout was hit by a pitch. Jose Siri pinch ran for him. A force out and a strike out later, Jose Fermin came in to pitch the ninth inning. He gave up a hit and a walk but manage to get through the inning. The Angels won 6-1.
