If anything, he usually oversells them, but It’s possible he said something negative and someone didn’t like it. Was it Patrick the other day that said “We can’t do anything about what’s happening on the field, but we can still have fun.” That’s probably what got him fired, and that statement was very generous. The organization and the team are a mess and they have no class, and I’m not a Patrick Fan. If your product is crap and you can’t take the heat for it, you shouldn’t be in this business. I remember when Dick Endberg made a similar statement back in the 70’s and the manager was fired shortly after. If Arte had any character at all, both Perry and Suzuki would be fired.
There’s good news. We’re 67-68 in the MiLB. Yes- we’re not good in AAA or AA. But our lower levels are holding their own. Of course those players will have to move up levels – and may struggle there. Did I mention we have $8 hot dogs.
