It would be a young rotation but I want to see what these four can do, I think Aldegheri will get some starts as will Silseth if he is healthy. I thought that we would keep Canning but now I am wondering if we might non-tender him.
Seems pretty volatile. If you believe the Angels as composed are not likely to contend until 2027, I think it’s fine.
But I’m skeptical that Koch can contend over the long-term, Detmers has obviously been a headscratcher, and hard to know about Soriano’s health. It’d be nice to bring in a couple more arms in the offseason.
Thanks. Yeah, I am unsure when the Angels think they can contend. Wash gave an inteview on a ESPN podcast saying that the team wants to win next year….but that is going to be tough.
I mean, given track record and the fact they have him through 2028 now, you definitely give Detmers every chance to recover. And if he has a clean bill of health, Soriano is someone you want to keep on track.
Anderson feels like a placeholder at best, and Canning, Koch and Aldegheri are each arms I wouldn’t build a rotation around (yet). So I think you still want 2-3 more arms for enough depth to weather underperformance and injury, as Dana and Soriano try to navigate a first full season.
Looks like the team has a long-term closer and some SIRP possibilities at the moment.
I want a postgame thread so we can talk excitedly about Dana
Nice win!! Even two RBIs for Rendon. Good for the Halos.
hahahaha! Love beating the Mariners
Last time we won 2 straight: Aug 7-8 vs TMFY.
Caden Dana gets the win!
CONGRATS to the kid! He can’t even drink yet! (legally)
and the Mariners sink even lower behind the Astros…run Jerry, you’re next!
Joyce’s first pitch: clean single. 2nd pitch: double play! Then 9 pitches to K Rojas, with one sinker at 93 mph, al the rest over 102 mph. Man o man!
LTBU!
The halo shines tonight.
103.5 heat. Jeez.
Pillar is 1-24 lately.
Okay, now to score 5 runs this inning and make it a laffer on the way to Dana’s 1st win.
STFD, Raleigh!
This umpire is pretty atrocious.
Bad called 3rd strike on Ward, but he has to cover with 2 strikes.
WHEW! 11 pitch AB ends in a K for Miller! That felt epic to me.
Smoke ’em if ya got ’em.
STFD, Haniger!
Mariners got Drury out. He had singled and walked. He’s not invincible, folks.
Great debut for a 20 yr old on a hot day. Mound presence plus-plus.
What are your thoughts on next year’s rotation if it’s Soriano, Dana, Kochanowitz, Detmers, and somebody else.
As long as somebody else will be closer to an ace than Dylan Bundy we maybe fine

Didn’t think it was that hot, just mid/upper 80s.
