Angels Win Game 2 On Zach Neto Day

Carson Fulmer got the call to pitch game number two of today’s double header. In the top of the second inning, the Angels exploded for six runs as follows. Three singles in a row culminated in this Mickey Moniak RBI.

Nolan Schanuel followed that up with this RBI walk.

Zach Neto remains hot and hit a grand slam for the other four runs in the Angels second.

The Yankees got a run in the bottom half of the second inning making it 6-1 Angels. It stayed that way until the top of the fourth inning when Charles Leblanc singled and Michael Stefanic doubled to put men at second and third with no outs. Nolan Schanuel flied out to bring up Zach Neto who doubled to make it 8-1 Angels.

Then Logan O’Hoppe flied out to deep center to send Neto to third with two outs. Kevin Pillar struck out. Oh well.

DJ LeMahieu doubled Carlos Narvaez singled and Gleyber Torres hit a sacrifice fly to give the Yankees another run in the bottom of the fourth inning. 8-2 Angels.

In the sixth inning, Michael Stefanic and Schanuel both singled to put two men on for Zach Neto. Neto hit into a force out at second but drove Stefanic to third with one out. Zach Neto attempted to steal second but was called out. Stefanic stayed put at third. Logan O’Hoppe struck out.

The Yankees were unable to muster any other runs. The Angels won 8-2.

This might have been posted already….

Updating this:

Jo Adell since ditching the leg kick: 6 for 20, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 2B, 1 HR (.300/.417/.500).

24 PA’s is a very small sample size, but worth keeping an eye on for the rest of the season.

if I was able to figure it out, I’m glad Jo and coaches were too haha.

Small adjustment and it’s gonna pay dividends. Back in on the Adell Era!

How many more seasons of control does he have? He’s been up/down so much since 2020 that I have no clue

He’s a free agent in 2028, no more options after this season. Arbitration from here on out to free agency, I think

Arb numero uno is next year so we could control him thru 2027 without an extension.

His hitting is so hot, not a word about his D at 2nd……anyone?
I guess if he can hit like that up here, who cares about his D, defense is for suckers. 😀

Imagine how brighter the team’s future would be if Perry knew how to draft and sign talent.

Zach Neto is the best player on this team and a future superstahhhhhh!

Oh btw, Neto’s soon-to-be (August 16 👀) double play partner, Christian Moore, just went 4-5 with 2 HRs including the walk-off HR LOL

Aldegheri with a very Angels like outing, 3 runs, couldn’t finish off the 5th inning

Two of those runs were surrendered by the bullpen.

He was pretty clean, though pitch inefficient, until two outs into the fifth. All his runs came in that inning, on walks and a single, all cashed in by Torres in relief.

It’s been Logan most of the year but. Neto has moved into pole position at the 3 quarters mark.

What a ballplayer.

Nice to Moniak & Adell chipping away, too.

I’ve had it Neto > Logan but I don’t mind if you prefer it the other way.

What a blessing it is to have both of em! A stud SS AND stud C, both under 25 !!!!
