Carson Fulmer got the call to pitch game number two of today’s double header. In the top of the second inning, the Angels exploded for six runs as follows. Three singles in a row culminated in this Mickey Moniak RBI.
Nolan Schanuel followed that up with this RBI walk.
Zach Neto remains hot and hit a grand slam for the other four runs in the Angels second.
The Yankees got a run in the bottom half of the second inning making it 6-1 Angels. It stayed that way until the top of the fourth inning when Charles Leblanc singled and Michael Stefanic doubled to put men at second and third with no outs. Nolan Schanuel flied out to bring up Zach Neto who doubled to make it 8-1 Angels.
Then Logan O’Hoppe flied out to deep center to send Neto to third with two outs. Kevin Pillar struck out. Oh well.
DJ LeMahieu doubled Carlos Narvaez singled and Gleyber Torres hit a sacrifice fly to give the Yankees another run in the bottom of the fourth inning. 8-2 Angels.
In the sixth inning, Michael Stefanic and Schanuel both singled to put two men on for Zach Neto. Neto hit into a force out at second but drove Stefanic to third with one out. Zach Neto attempted to steal second but was called out. Stefanic stayed put at third. Logan O’Hoppe struck out.
The Yankees were unable to muster any other runs. The Angels won 8-2.
