That Was Fast Postgame

Five innings went by in about an hour. The pitching was solid on both sides.

Fortunately for the Angels, we had Aaron Hocks. He hit a solo shot to give the Angels a 1-0 lead the n had an RBI single in the 6th to double the lead to 2-0.
Tyler Anderson looked good this spring and took that to the mound day.

The Angels had a shutout through 8 but Luis Garcia continued his shake start to the year. Ultimately the Angels won 3-1 to ensure the series win.

Funny, Neto, who was on fire in the spring is off to a slow start, and O’Hoppe, who couldn’t hit a lick in the spring is our best hitter right now. Only 5 games though. Those games just don’t matter as 71 tried so hard to get us to understand.

A nice turnaround from the first two in Baltimore but they’ve played 3% of their season thus far so…

Would this 3% refrain be your approach had we lost these first two against Miami!?

Imagine if we had gone for it and had Bellinger, Martinez, and Snell or Monty. Potentially all on short relatively inexpensive contracts. Even if you missed the playoffs but stayed in the hunt until near the end you would easily have a good financial year and yes it would have meant no Jo Adell and less Moniak. Like Turk said though, the opportunity was there. and if for some reason the record wasn’t that good, you could have probably traded all the vets if you desired. We can go for it next year when we know what we have, assuming Adell and Moniak get some play time.

I don’t really at this point. You might do it if the organization didn’t have all the other land mines from the recent past.

Who actually thinks about the Angels to give two f’s about our recent past. Sign the dude. He helps us to the playoffs OR we flip him at the deadline.

Amir Garret’s debut for the Great Salt Lake couldn’t have gone any better tonight blowing away the side with 3 straight Strikeouts swinging. The Dude definitely has some serious grit. Trevor Bauer approves.

He’s a hot head and Percival should approve. Severe walk-rates, if he could improve on that, I like the signing.

Manager Ron Buttermaker (looks at Amir’s swollen eye) What the hell happened to you?
O’Hoppe – Amir got into a fight

Manager Ron Buttermaker – Who with?
O’Hoppe – The Pittsburgh Pirates

Manager Ron Buttermaker – What?
O’Hoppe – (loudly) The entire Pittsburgh Pirates

As I said during the game thread, perhaps we shouldn’t be so eager on Rendon failing. Time
for the Uno Reverse,
positive ju-ju shit.

No point in encouraging failure. At least for Angels players…

Actively rooting for the Angels to win the WS and Rendone to fail.

It’s pretty enjoyable

Bah… can’t agree with you here P12.
It Rendon is getting AB’s, we shouldn’t strive to be negative. Call me crazy.

So, Trout at DH tomorrow? Rengifo at 3rd, Moniak in CF and Adell in RF?

Oh on the contrary, I know I’m the crazy one haha.

I think Jo is getting the start in CF because we are going against a lefty tmrw.

Let Trout cook at DH tomorrow.

Perhaps they give Ward a day, and go Hicks (LF), Hey Mickey (CF) and Adell (RF) ???

You know one of our CTPG guys will declare a Salman Rushdie type Fatwa on Rendon. They won’t be able to take much more and just pull the trigger.

Ladies and gentlemen, the big, bad Astros are now 1-5.

They blew a 1-0 lead in the top of the 9th as Hader gave up a 2run HR to Blue Jays.

And this record has been achieved at home no less….

Stay tuned. I would love it to be a pay back year for us vs them. Unfortunately we can’t play them now when they’re cold. With our luck they will be rolling when we catch them..

Things I liked tonight: getting 7-innings out of an Anderson with only 2-walks allowed, a Trout steal and Ward picking up a team leading RBI. Need a hitter in the 4-hole producing runs. Just need to fix the Leadoff slot.

“….. Oh, yeah? Well, um, it was just the Marlins…. and plus Rendon…. and don’t tell me you’re OK with (insert your dumbfk take on 5 games worth of line ups here)!”

I haven’t even scrolled down yet, but how much you wanna bet this post game comment section, after our worsiest team with the dumbest GM, manager who doesn’t unuhstan line ups, and most evil owner beat Jesus Lozardo with a not even MLB pitcher to start the year over .500 is more than 60% boo hoo piss ant bad fan juju crap?

And The workload over there will be even lighter than the work load over here this season. It’ll be like working for the Marlins.

I suspect Shufflebot is now being held hostage by ’71 because the Angels aren’t following his preseason narrative and prognostications.

Wins against the Marlins is the ultimate “fools gold”. The Marlins are not a good team. Yet Rendone still can’t get a hit. Yeeessshh. Let’s see what the team does in the next 2 series.

Luzardo is a good pitcher, and my guess is the Angels were lucky to see him early in the season, as I think he will improve with every start.
