Angels at Dodgers Gamethread

The baseball gods rubbing our noses in the Ohtani defection before the season even starts. Hopefully the boys in red can shut up the Dodger fans with a win.

Dude. Sano is a big & slow boy. If he has to play any meaningful reps at 3B, we’re f’d.

Even watching games from the Latrine on TV is excruciating, all that noise booming from the PA. Clown show.

Based on spring training, it will be interesting to see who hits worst in the regular season: Rendon, Sano, O’Hoppe, or Rengifo.

Rendon and Sano are last their prime. O’Hoppe who was so promising last year looks kinda lost at the plate. Not sure why. Rengifo is streaky and usually plays well once the Halos are out of the hunt.

It won’t be the Ren Bros.

Neto reminds me of Granderson. Scrappy little guy with a bigger bat than you’d expect.

So our offense and pitching sucks. Good to know. Can we still sign Snell and Lorenzen? How about JD Martinez to fill the lineup?

We’re here now.

Doyer fans aren’t that bad TBH.

Trout can still run. Focus on running & raking bro.

Watching on sportsnet. They have what’s looks to be legit giveaways this year (zip up sweaters, Valenzuela jerseys, etc with Bank of America/Ohtani in very small, obscure area). No wonder they charge so much

I think I’ll give up on this game, get ready for the circus tomorrow.

Following how Arte operates the team, the Angels are small market. The Dodgers are the “big time”

You really think this is just “Spring training” related?

Roy Hobbs

Well, maybe not, but everytime someone makes an observation lately they get told it’s only Spring Training and doesn’t matter. I understand that none of the results count and we start over on Thursday. Honestly, our pitching has not looked bad this spring but I’m not sure who we have pitched against. Our hitting and run scoring as a team have been pretty poor. I don’t think we are very good and it’s going to be a long year. Hopefully the young players will blossom but some of the veterans have not looked so good and Thursday is coming fast.

Meh. Spring Training is about working out the kinks and gaining focus for the regular season. Once the season starts, players give a whole lot more of a shit. So take everything you see with a big grain of salt.

That said, independent of Spring Training, I agree with you that this team is just okay at best. That is based on the last couple seasons and losing Shohei not on Spring Training.

ST as a whole, yes. I do think players care about this series, at least the ones on the younger side.

Rendon/Trout… they’re family men! This is a just a j.o.b.

I guess it’s a good thing then that none of the Dodgers have children.

Spring Training does matter as the team gets closer to the regular season. Furthermore the Freeway Series does carry importance as the Angels and Dodgers are rivals. Lastly, if any more motivation was needed: Ohtani.

Well, starting on Thursday, we’re going to find out. We have not looked very good in Spring Training aside from a few individuals.
