Looks like Tepera got upset at a full dressing down and the ump flexed on him.
Ump checked Tepera’s throwing hand then called him back to check his glove. After a few seconds of the ump holding and going through the glove, he asked to check the belt. Ryan took off his belt and said something as he handed it over.
Phillips – 1-AB l, 1 whiff. But it’s Spring where none of that matters, right? He might be using the Spring trying out new approach, closing his left eye vs the right when he swings. Let’s go, Brett!
Thaiss looking really really nice while O’Hoppe kind of looking O’Crappy so I suspect since Thaiss is out of options Logan will probably start the season in AAA this season
I think as long as Thaiss can handle the position, can he? Have not seen him trying to nab base stealers too much. I think that is the right move. Could use the left handed bat.
Good question. In the last 7 games it looks like Thaiss has a total of about 5 innings at catcher. Now maybe he’s getting alot of work behind the plate in the minor league games,, but I’m not sure thats a good harbinger for someone who’s going to be your opening day backup catcher behind Stassi.
MPH and Exit Velocity are a couple stats that don’t really add to the outcome of the game. While Pitch Count, even though I despise this arbitrary threshold, certainly does in this day and age.
I hope we carry Davidson and don’t release him. Send Silseth and Canning down because of options.
A ST Comeback would work. GO ANGELS!!!!!!!!!
BTW-FYI, UCLA in March madness tonight 7:30 tonight. 😃 🏀
Good job kid!!!! 😆
Barria looking horrible.
Was hoping he’d be a long guy:spot starter.
Career numbers say he’ll be fine, my fingers are crossed though.
Well what do you know? https://twitter.com/SamBlum3/status/1637197823388299266
Is Arte finally becoming the guy we wanted?
Still has a way to go. But maybe you can get an interview with the new Arte for CtPG?
Yes, especially since The Athletic has a pay wall.
I’d like to submit a few questions if you do.
More worried about the bull pen than anything else right now.
It seems shaky.
No need to worry . All is well!

One of those guys. Great.
So what was that all about? Game day says Tep was ejected but no further detail

That’s when he got tossed
So we won’t know until later if he got tossed for cheating or for sassing the ump. Thanks.
So a pitcher that’s getting hit hard and is off gets undressed by a Blue, go figure.
Looking at the belt in slo mo it looked clean.
Tepera sucked and was cheating? Bad combo.
As soon as I post that Tepera shows he’s in early season form.
I’m trying not to get too excited in March but this year has a different feel.
We’re looking at guys like Canning and Soto as AAA depth.
Moniak and O’Hoppe as prospects who can develop instead of being rushed.
We’re not panicking over Rodriguez being hurt.
We’re marveling at Joyce.
So different than praying a reclamation project or waiver claim plays a major role.
Canning would be a nice trade candidate. We all know durability is his issue. Let’s move off of him at the right time.
I’m cautiously excited too. But with each passing day my concerns over the bullpen is growing exponentially.
Nice hit. Nice base running. Nice throw………stupid 3rd base coaching.
But base running . O’Hoppe forgot how many outs there were.
Phillips – 1-AB l, 1 whiff. But it’s Spring where none of that matters, right? He might be using the Spring trying out new approach, closing his left eye vs the right when he swings. Let’s go, Brett!
Canning looking good

Agreed.
Which means for a change we’ll have an actual prospect as depth.

Does Tempe Diablo post pitching speeds?
I noticed at Sloan yesterday where the Cubs play and Maryvale where the Brewers play they show the velocity of every pitch
They don’t. I’ve heard them relay MPH from scouts after an inning.
Cheap Arte.

Right. Just ask WTY
Same at Salt River Fields. The scoreboard is one of the items to be upgraded as part of the renovations to TDS.
You would think Salt River would have the pitch speeds . Thats a fairly new stadium isn’t it?
Opened in 2011 according to Wikipedia.
