Angels Avenge the Irish by Destroying the Royals 12-1

Sometimes, it sucks that Spring Training games don’t count. Of course I only say that because the Angels crushed the Royals today on a day everyone was watching college basketball.

March Madness, WBC, and ST. Patricks’ Day means that barely anyone tuned in for this game, Well, for those that did, you missed out. Jose Suarez was solid, and the offense beat up KC pitching.

Pinch the Royals for not wearing green

Highlighted Recap

Scoring started fast as new Angel Drury continued to show how good he can be with another home run on the spring.

BAM!

What about that other player, Urshela? He put on the wheels with a triple to make it 3-0 Angels.

Zooming

A double by Jake Lamb made it 4-0 after 1 inning.

But it wasn’t his only hit of the say, because in the 3rd, he hit a grand slam to really put the pain on the Royals.

POT OF GOLD!

By the time the third inning ending, it was 11-0 Angels and the Royals were as powerful as the modern British monarchy.

However, because it took a long time, Suarez was rusty and walked a ton of guys, allowing a run on a sac fly before finding his groove again.

After that it was just cruising for the Angels, with Ben Joyce and Sam Bachman getting outs to show what the future bullpen may look like while Squid put across one last run just to rub it in.

Upcoming

There is still more Spring Training left, and the Angels are 13-5 so far. Maybe this means the team is good for real? You are allowed to feel hope, rebellions are built on it, after all.

I thought Phillips was a lock to make the team out of spring training. Now, I am not so sure. Sending Moniak down and keeping Phillips to spell Trout in center looks like a really bad call right now. It’s not just that Phillips is having a bad spring, he hasn’t hit throughout his MLB career. Signing him for 1.2 mil just doesn’t make sense….

If Fairleigh Dickinson U can do. So can the Angels. I guess anything is possible.

Unfortunately the Angels history is more like the Boilermakers than FDU.

I am loving the NCAA upsets so much. It’s just lame that my Gauchos, proud riders of the Pampas that they are, couldn’t get in on the upset action.

The Royals are 15-6 this spring and we trounced them, making us the obvious front runner to win the WS. Huzzah.

No joke, Suarez is still way too hittable. Hopefully he gets his sneak together soon. Though a sweet sweet back end of Tuck D and Canning won’t be the end of the world. All told though, a nine inning game pitched mostly by scrubs with only 2 walks is a good sign.

Walsh and Rendon are ohviosly washed. Lamb is trying really hard to fool everyone who won’t be fooled. Urshela is also sligh, but real ballsman is onto him too probably. Moniak’s hitting .412 but he ate two LOBsters today so he’s cheapartepoop.

To spite all of the silent lies these players are assaulting us with we will still probably win the Baseball Bowl and sign two Ohtanis with our new 1 billion dollar payroll.

Suarez just needs to hold it down until Bachman is ready for the call.

Nevin gave Suarez the verbal nod to be our #5…. based on what he did last year I’ll take it! Assuming our 1-4 meet expectations, that is a solid #5 starter. Maybe I’m not remembering the 20 starts he had last year. Seem to keep us in most of his starts, showed some Grit, 8 wins. I’m too GA to research it, best #5 we’ve had in very long, long, long time. Free Suarez!!!

Incomplete grade. Didn’t follow close enough. Seems like a bad year to not have a soild defensive SS with the shift ban. Maybe Squid actually makes the opening-day roster because of his glove, used as a late-inning defensive replacement.

never heard it called “the Baseball Bowl” but it’s brilliant. Must call it that from now on since “world series” is definitely inadequately named.

Canada is hardly “the world”. Hell, it’s barely Canada.

Our record now leads all of spring training. (By winning percentage). One run behind KC(!) in +/-. Looking legit, even without Troutani.

I’m hoping Thaiss makes the team. Don’t want to expose him to waivers, and O’Hoppe could use a little time at AAA.

I’m also hoping Phillips does not make the team. Either Moniak, or have Squid as the back up CF, as well as the late inning defensive replacement for SS. Glad to see Squid getting time in CF.

Tie game in bottom of ninth with a man on first – it’s Phillips in to run with the heart of the lineup coming up. Or allows Trout to DH. Or replaces Ward in late innings.

if we need a true OF to play daily, it’s definitely Moniak as next man up now.

It’s funny when you remember we are missing our stars.

Rendon is gonna make me believe one last time. Hitting .444 in spring.

Good to see Suarez have a decent outing.

negative folks would point out that 4 4 4 is unlucky in Chinese culture. Rendon should bat 888 FFS.
