For example Ward will for sure still retain one option left next year along with Walsh because they were never optioned down to the minors this season.

Thaiss will likely draw the short stick if the decision is based on catcher only, but he may also be a good back-up first baseman to Walsh.

I haven’t learned the playoffs format since we’re not in them. I hope there comes a point where learning it becomes relevant.
