I missed it: did Marsh AKA “Squatch” – not play today because of the rib thing from last night?

thought it was his K’ankle…might be ribs too.

Okay, so the Trash-Holes outscored us 22-8 in a 4 game series and we begin the season 1-3. And we had fantastic SP from Ohtani and Thor.

Think of the upside.

(Someone please tell me what the upside is?)

We should NOT have lost on Opening Day. We had our best starting pitcher going against their third best starter (who happens to be a lefty) and all we could muster was one lousy run. We needed to win that game. That was the tale of this series. As I said at the time it did not bode well for things to come…

That game – Game 1 of 162 – was one I psychologically NEEDED the Angels to win. I only knew that for the next three hours after the game. Thank the Goddess May Jane Warner, who pulled me out of that funk.

I’m sure we will come out flat against the Miami Heat and lay another egg…few more injuries. Juggling of the batting order to finally get the team batting average over .200….
I do have some positive news, Adell makes 2 routine fly balls look easy and actually hits a foul ball so hard in makes it the the 3rd deck.

This team has no depth. Half the starting lineup could get released and wind up in the mornings. Hope you are happy Arte.

4 games in and I’m already sick of this damn team. Same shit year after year.

Yea, it was like sweet euthanasia. None of that typical Halos loading the bases with no outs and failing to score. This one was no-drama.

I think it was Isaac Newton who said if there is no build-up, there can be no buttercup. “QED” er something like that.

If Adell can’t hit what value does he have for this team?

A minor Minor League pitcher maybe.

STFD, Pena!

You know what kills me? The Trash-Holes see Correa leave, so they just bring up a 24 year old from the DR who’s already flashing leather, has a HR, was batting .400 before this last K. Why can’t WE d stuff like that? Oh right: we gutted our minor leagues a while back. Forget I asked.

This should be the every day lineup…

Marsh
Trout
Ohtani
Rendon
Walsh
Stassi
Duffy
Adell
Fletcher

That’s way more balanced right there

I think most here will agree will you, but Joe has to make crazy line-ups and always, well mostly calls in the wrong relief pitcher.

All the more proof those cubs won the World Series not because of him but in spite of him.

Friend who’s a cub fan coulda ceres less when joe went adios.

A lineup with wade, suzuki, rojas, adell, and mayfield all playing is going to net you a bunch of L’a.

yep the complete lack of urgency, I can’t understand it for the life of me. Pay Rendon all that money to sit on the bench? Marsh has actually looked really good and there was a righty today….. Maddon can go.

JackFrost

Rendon sucks. He was smiling and laughing in the dugout on Thursday night after having grounded into an excruciating DP. He was displaying the exact lack of urgency you are decrying. He is one of the culprits for the “lack of urgency.”

Honestly I can’t remember one time that happened in all the years I’d watch or listen to every single game. Twice on one inning? Jesus.

It’s what the unwashed masses clamor for. Phony “high energy” broadcasts, full of useless chatter. And if an Angel does hit a home run, giving it a call like it just walked off the Angels a Game 7 World Series win. And that nauseating fake disney-esque “smile talking” where everyone keeps their fake smile plastered on their faces.

I think adell might not being seeing the ball off the bat. He reacts after it hits the ground.

If that’s the case it’s more worrying than him flailing away at routing fly balls

But it will. And it will be effing glorious. Hang in there, guys. It sucks now, but we’ll get better.

GrandpaBaseball

Jo Adell needs to play every day until All -Star game and he will be a whole lot better, keep the faith with the kids as painful as it will be. Keep Adell in left. Give Capt. Jack more playing time and keep Walsh in against the lefties and things will work out.

Perry sucks so far at the in game support. I see batters just swinging , no scouting reports. Nobody is doing any pre- game work. Astros defense is at the right place right time, batters with a specific approach

Totally agree. The main difference between us and the Astros is the analytics, scouting and pre-game preparation.

you do realize Arte employs Perry and people he went to college with. Every other owner hires a GM and lets him hire way way way more actual baseball people than Perry gets to.

It is OVER. Done.

The one thing I will say is that the outcome very likely would have been different if we had not been screwed by the agenda of the MLB offices. They do it to us year after year with reviews. Had we gone up 2-0 (as we actually DID) we would have won.
