Bad news for Bauer. Probably to the surprise of nobody, an Ohio woman sought a protective order against Trevor Bauer for choking and punching her during sex while he was playing for Cincinnati. (Well presumably not while he was actually playing a game. But you know what I mean.) He subsequently threatened to kill the woman in text message exchanges. Am I detecting a pattern here? The police apparently blamed the victim in that incident. I don’really see how underage drinking makes her a legitimate target to get beaten up. In the back of my mind I can’t help wondering how far this will go before Rachel Luba cuts ties with Bauer.
The Yankees placed Clint Frazier on the 60 day injured list on Monday, thereby nullifying any likelihood the Angels would face him in the makeup game.

Jacob deGrom has suffered a further setback with his elbow injury. Maybe that Cy Young Award is slipping away from him.
I wonder if Ka’ai Tom will clear waivers this time.

Been following the Felipe Vasquez story since it broke. Dude is convicted of 15 counts of being a child predator, yet only got 2-4 years behind bars at sentencing today. He’s been locked up for 23 months during this process, so do the math. He’ll be out again in no time.

The loss of minor league baseball last year has cost guys an entire year. In the case of Davis Daniel, he’d already lost one year due to injury.
Their time to sink or swim is near, but this year 24 isn’t as bad as it was in the past.

We will likely see Miggy hit HR 500 this series. Over the years I’ve gotten to really enjoy the guy; his demeanor, the way he interacts with fans, especially kids. Not his fault he was handed an MVP.

I’ve long been wondering about other allegations against Bauer. Violence tends to escalate so I wasn’t going to really be surprised either way. At some point it simply took more violence for him to feel satisfied. If that point really was back in 2017, there will be more victims I’d imagine.

It’s my understanding from a very reliable source that we would never trade for or sign deGrom because the ligament was not torn enough.
My sources tell me our Dr’s wouldn’t touch him unless he went through the usual hand wringing 4 month misdiagnoses protocols…..never want to cut on someone too soon. You wait and see if it fixes itself first..then rub a very, very expensive magic balm on it and wait 2 or 3 weeks. Then after 2 or 3 months, you secretly call the Doyer Dr for a 2nd opinion.
