That’s six straight starts that he’s surrendered two or fewer earned runs, encompassing all of August. Five of those six he surrendered one run or fewer.

For me, I find that a bit surprising given his BB/9, OBA is ok but, K/BB less than 2. I’ve liked him from Day 1 and the look he brings with his delivery. I think he needs to brings the walks down as I don’t think he has the stuff to get away with issuing free passes.

When they let go of Maddox, Moz implied that the reason the hitting coaches weren’t let go because unlike the pitching department, they were using the technology.
So if that’s the case, that seems to be acknowledgement that this lineup sucks and that nobody can help them.

I was thinking the same way. Night after night, guys get on base to lead off the inning. 3 outs later they are on the same base. Are the coaches and manager inept or are these guys poor minor league hitters. Could be both. But 3 hits and 11 Ks normally gets you no place.
