Our rough weekend against the Dodgers continued Sunday as the Dodgers jumped out early and never looked back. The Dodgers struck first in the second inning after Hyeseong Kim delivered an RBI single and Miguel Rojas added a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.
Things unraveled in the fourth. After walks and singles loaded traffic on the bases, Shohei Ohtani ripped a two-run single before Andy Pages followed with a two-run knock of his own, extending the Dodgers’ lead to 7-0 and quieting Angel Stadium.
We finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Moncada singled home Schanuel, but that was one of the few bright spots offensively. Sasaki dominated through seven innings, holding us to just one run while striking out eight.
Meanwhile, our bullpen settled things down late, with Farris and Yates combining for scoreless relief innings, but the damage had already been done as the Halos dropped their third straight to their crosstown rivals. 10-1.
