Angels vs. Dodgers Postgame

Our rough weekend against the Dodgers continued Sunday as the Dodgers jumped out early and never looked back. The Dodgers struck first in the second inning after Hyeseong Kim delivered an RBI single and Miguel Rojas added a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

Things unraveled in the fourth. After walks and singles loaded traffic on the bases, Shohei Ohtani ripped a two-run single before Andy Pages followed with a two-run knock of his own, extending the Dodgers’ lead to 7-0 and quieting Angel Stadium.

We finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Moncada singled home Schanuel, but that was one of the few bright spots offensively. Sasaki dominated through seven innings, holding us to just one run while striking out eight.

Meanwhile, our bullpen settled things down late, with Farris and Yates combining for scoreless relief innings, but the damage had already been done as the Halos dropped their third straight to their crosstown rivals. 10-1.

Arte’s “unfinished business” – the total and complete dismantling and destruction of a baseball franchise.

We should take up a collection and put a massive full page ad in the OC Register and (more importantly to Arte) the LA Times asking Arte to sell the team.

Let’s start a go-fund-me. We won’t stop at newspaper ads.

Billboards everywhere in OC (the irony is too sweet). Aerial airplane banners. Targeted Instagram and Facebook ads urging people not to attend games. Partner with local OC breweries and have them collab on a “Sell Arte Sell” beer and sell it across all the craft breweries.

Don’t some organizations give free time to important social needs and call them public service announcements?

Once it starts to catch some steam it will be surely be featured on sports media outlets.

Maybe Jeff could give it a little nudge once it becomes worthy of a story.

The cost is $50,000 to $80,000. I would be willing to do my part for this.Realistically, we would need 500-1,000 people to contribute. If it can be arranged, it should be unemotional and just a clear and factual statement that Arte has not been a good steward of the franchise and maybe it is time to give someone else a chance for the benefit of Anaheim and all Angel fans. Not that it will do any good – but it would be meaningful to put together and would actually generate additional press.

I have spent zero dollars on the Angels this year so I would be willing to contribute $500 to the effort. I suggest anyone who is interested to stop spending money on this crappy product and focus instead on the Ad campaign.

I worked for the Mouse during Disney’s ownership of the Halos. The Angels were an afterthought. I don’t think we would want that.

If MLB had relegation like English Soccer, the Angels would be in Double A right now.

The hapless Halos have hit one home in the past six games, last Wednesday in Cleveland.
The have scored nine runs in past six games.
They are not getting on base, thus no stolen bases. The pitchers have given up 44 runs in past six games.
There no hit and runs, lousy fielding, lackadaisical effort. Pitchers gave up 17 walks in the Dodger series.
This is a total team meltdown. The GM needs to be fired now.

Rats spotted AGAIN at Angel Stadium in Section 533 during Sunday afternoon’s game vs. the Dodgers.

Fans should not have to worry about rodents while attending a baseball game. This is becoming a serious health and safety issue. Angel Stadium needs to address the rat infestation immediately.

Brian Sanders (VP Ballpark Ops): Promoted in 2021 after 13 years with the Angels in client services and ballpark ops. Previously worked on and off for the Disneyland Resort. Zero baseball experience.

https://www.reddit.com/r/angelsbaseball/comments/y1ihxs/angels_front_office_explained/

I can tell you, Brian is nice family guy, but this is what you get with the Angels. Played baseball at Chapman, dad worked at Disney, got a mid job and stayed around while a lot people left. Never worked in baseball operations before. This is what happened when sharte surrounds himself with yes boys.

1000% extremely serious. It’s weird, Arte said safety was a top priority for fans yet nothing has been done to eradicate the rats. Letting those bastards gallivant in the stadium for over a month.

These must be the friendly non-Hantavirus carrying rats. The kids love em! Family fun at a low price

I see it as being adaptable, having now shifted towards rooting for the tank. I’m having fun treating games as a comedy show and getting my desired outcome. If the team somehow wins that’s fine too — that’s what I call a win-win-win!

Seriously tho, no fucking way I’m going back and risking running into a rat lol

Lol, I feel you. My wife wanted to go today, and I was like, “Hell to the naw.” We were gifted tickets to the Sunday Angels/Dodgers game in June, and I’m frigging dreading it. Told my daughter, “The Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series — just watch the way they talk to daddy at the game.” Maybe the Chavez Ravine nastiness will swing her back.

I was there and had to be at least 70/30 blue again. My heart aches for all of this but the product on the field isn’t good enought to compete.
It was nice to see Grayson pitching again and I think he will be a good addition. If he practices his PFP’s again and gets to the base in time to get kim the big inning doesn’t happen.

This historic team has taught me that it can always get worse. Next year will, at best, be a shortened season, but I don’t see why we can’t push for 121 losses in 2028. The only thing stopping us from catching the Pirates’ 20 straight losing seasons is Father Time. Sharte-stain Moreno is eventually gonna shuffle off this mortal coil, but we’re only seven years away from the Buckos. Assholes live forever. Waiting for the payoff.

Next home series is going to be completely dead. 1 – it’s the A’s, but also some fans that attended this weekend aren’t going to want to go back if they were Angels fans. I went yesterday for the first and only time this season. Horrible product and experience for the home fan.

Perry doesn’t deserve his paycheck.
