Let’s continue the fight against these Rangers.
Angels @ The Rangers Game 2 Gamethread
I don’t want to call Trout’s HR meaningless but it’s almost funny that it came in this situation. Glad to see him back!
I love Trout, but let’s face it, it IS meaningless. Epitome of “late meaningless HR.” When I created the term this is what I was talking about.
That said, it could lead to him getting his swing back faster, so there is that….
Maybe Jeff can gently suggest to Molly the idea of using the last half of the season to evaluate when it doesn’t hurt you in any way. Like seeing whether Tori would make a good manager. Isn’t he already on the payroll. It’s an opportunity for Tori as well as the team. And also for player evaluation. The chance to see things without penalty. I also believe that Tori would draw people to the ballpark. He would sell tickets.
I honestly can’t remember what Gubie ever talked about before he discovered “exit velocity.”
Really fun pitching slate happening on the farm tonight. Austin Gordon (AA) dominated 7 IP 1 ER 5 hits 6 Ks
Haley (A), Shores (A+), Dana (AAA) all going right now
I’ve seen players talk to Torii about fundamentals more tonight than they have Suzuki for the entire season.
You know what, screw it, I’m Team Tori as manager if it means Jo plays like an MVP
I always said that Torii had leadership qualities….. aside from any strategic or in-game considerations as a manager he is without a doubt a leader of men. That is underappreciated, and in my view the most important part of the job ! If he just does reasonably well at the other stuff he could be an excellent manager !!
Lots of unknowns like is he receptive to analytics and what would his in-game decision making look like, but I agree with being a leader. I like RH’s idea of replacing Suzuki with Tori for the rest of the season
there goes my prediction of a 3-1 lead when Urena leaves, with Texas winning 5-3. I think we’ll hold on to this. Hopefully Wally get through the 5th
