The Windy City in late March is not exactly prime baseball weather. But MLB refuses to let the Angels open at home for some reason.

I hate what they are doing with Johnson’s development. He’s clearly undercooked and raw, yet they keep trotting him out opening weekend just to get shelled before sending back to AA. There’s no way that’s a viable development plan.
Could not agree more, like playing Yahtzee, just roll the dice baby
Lowe hasn’t done much at the plate other than the home run. He’s 2/17.
6 friggin walks.
2-RUN HOMER-YOAN MONCADA
Meaningless late homeruns do nothing for us ….
Man, Cody Ponce with a knee injury in his first start with Toronto tonight. After working his way back to the majors, getting a solid contract in the offseason, and having an excellent spring training (0.66 ERA over five appearances).
That’s some shitty luck.
At least he got the contract.
True – but I’m sure he wants to earn it.
I agree, I was just looking at the positive in a negative.
I’d thumbs that up, but every time I try, it says I’m banned (lol).
O/U on K’s, 10 tonight.
Under, 9. But the team seems to be back to hack, hack, hack away.
The wind. They all think they can go deep.
Cy Cabrera.
He’s a good pitcher. No shame.
Pitch clock violation gives the Cubs battery ball four. Good gracious.
What about Klassen or Bremner or Aldegheri?
No sense piling on the “guys who were not ready” profile. These three should have all the time they need. No urgency, right?
True. Especially since we’ll be eliminated by the end of April.
Bremner is all the way down in A+ ball, and Aldegheri got simply clobbered in Vegas this week.
Klassen is probably next man up.
This pitcher sucks.
They used all of their offense in Houston.
Cabrera dominated us last year too (I was at the game).
I think it’s about time to call it…… BALLGAME!!
Ball 4, Adell. If you left your bat on your shoulder for the first 4 pitches, you would have walked.
Moncada and O’Sloppe have been horrible so far this season. Triple AAA roster filler bench horrible.
Agree
3 1/3 innings for a starting pitcher. That won’t tax the bullpen at all.
We’ll always have last Thursday and Friday
Should arrive for Friday home opener at 2-5?
Oh good. Lucchesi
Why are they pitching to this guy with 1st base open?
This dude is throwing bp.
I think we’ve identified a problem Perry didn’t fix
I laughed my ass off at this comment
Hey, I’m a teacher, coach, and parent – there are lots of people who hate me. I’m used to it. Just get in line. I can take it. You won’t hurt my feelings.
Nobody hates you here. We are all on the same team
Yes and P12 is definitely on the optimistic side of the spectrum. 🙂
Just don’t treat people like shit here – you’re new, play nice.
There are folks in this community who’ve been here almost two decades, going back to the old site. From your first comments, you’ve laid into the regulars here.
Treat folks with respect, and you’ll earn theirs.
See, that’s what I don’t get. I never called anybody names or said their opinions are stupid or anything. I don’t agree with them, just like you don’t agree with me. All I said was I was surprised there are so many on here who seemed so negative about everything during spring training. Not sure that qualifies as not playing nice.
EHC – I have access to all your comments. You’ve called folks whiners, complainers, bozos. You’ve harped on the community’s negativity from mid-February on. I don’t want to mirror your comments back to you, but I’m happy to screenshot if you need evidence.
You’ve laid into the prospect-followers, the sabermetrically inclined, those who complain about ownership or management, those who characterize themselves as realists. It’s been relentless.
If you don’t like the negativity, just move on, or lurk and stop moaning about it. It doesn’t have to be the preface to every single comment.
I don’t agree with the piling on one user bs, but we also have to be a bit nicer to eachother here with our replies. I like to avoid choosing a side, yes the non stop complaining annoys me a bit, but I don’t let it bother me any more then the angels actually losing. At the end of the day, we all want the team to succeed deep down.
Wow, the fundamentals and the defense are stink city. Tonight, all Moncada has to step on the bag for a double play, but he tried to tag the runner and missed. No DP to end inning. Next batter up, base hit 2 rbi’s.
In past 20 innings, 25 runs given up.
Very early in season, but ugh.
This is what we expected. The first 2 games were a fluke.
Trout’s resurgence definitely a positive. 1st three SP outings pretty good. Leading the league in HRs. But 4th and 5th starters not so good, nor bullpen, and after good D in first two, atrocious since.
2nd in runs scored too. Tonight not helping in that category.
Detmer’s outing was a very mixed bag. As much as I like him and want him to succeed, he really needs to step up and I”m not convinced he will.
