a child’s face on Christmas morning when he gets the gift of his dreams and that big smile breaks out?

ill never forget Scioscia’s expression after watching Shohei hit in the cage for the very first time in February 2018.

we were lucky to have him.

Once again, I’m convinced that Shohei is a nuclear-powered android.

Hard to imagine the doyers NOT winning it all at this point.

They’re starting pitching peaked at the perfect time.

The only thing I see that could keep the Dodgers from winning in ‘25, ‘26 and ‘27 is the potential lockout and missed WS in ‘27.

Saw a post that argues the Doyers winning next year will result in missing a season of baseball entirely, due to the salary cap arguement. Makes a lot of sense.

Agree, they will keep winning, adding elite players who want to join the gravy train to win a championship. More spent, more deferrals. Who’s next, Tucker, Murakami? Hoping Skubal signs that extension with Detroit cause he’s on their radar after 26. Sport is broken, Steinbrenner started the $$ problem, but Guggenheim crew has taken it way overboard. Hated that old Yanks team, but give them credit, the core of it were players they brought up, Jeter, Petite, Posada, Rivera, Bernie Williams. LA core is all superstars from other teams. Sad if it has to come to a lockout to try and fix this.

I’d love to hate the Doyers like I hate the MFY’s… I just like their players too much.

Totally respect that. Loved Freeman with the Braves; he never wanted to leave but his agent sending ownership ultimatums on money/extra yr led them to trade prospects for Olson. Could have cried when Dodgers got him. Never had an issue with Kershaw, how pathetic the Dodgers staff is so elite he doesn’t fit in the playoffs, his last year.

Unless the Dodgers are losing money, I don’t have sympathy for the other owners, they are all billionaires. The Dodgers are not doing this at a loss, they are making money. Any of the other owners could do this if they wanted to and had the organization to execute it. The other owners are irritated because they want to pocket lot’s of money with less effort. The players will never agree to a cap and shouldn’t. There should be a floor though and there should be a league wide broadcasting agreement instead of individual ones so that the playing field is level.

I guess that’s what is known as a “meaningful game”.

I forgot, what did the Angels receive when 0htani left the Angels?

Greatest one game performance by a player in mlb history, in a game to win the pennant. Ohtani is a lion amoung kittens. We may never see anything again like what he did tonight. No cheapie honers either, one left the stadium. Hard to believe this legendary talent played for the sad sack Angels. Simply astounding.

Hate the Dodgers but will always love Shohei and will continue to root for him despite the jersey he wears.

FUCK YOU, Arte!

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that no one has ever hit 3 jacks whilst striking out 10 batters in the same (playoff) game has never occurred before.

No one has ever done it, even in a regular season game or playoff game. Rick Wise of the Phillies once hit two himers and pitched a no hitter in sane game during a regular season game.

Dodgers v Mariners WS would be ultimate ‘you suck Arte’ WS.

Simply the greatest and most exciting player maybe ever, Gawd how I miss him, but now another World Series for him and that was just what he wanted. He’s collecting rings and we are collecting strikeout records.

Shohei was in the spotlight and was spectacular beyond belief, just simply the best game by any player I ever seen, Go Shohei!

They get playoffs and we get a court case. Nice little summary of Angels baseball.

As time passes, I value great baseball by good dudes more and team allegiances less. I’ve played in over a thousand games and probably watched at least triple that. This is the single greatest game by any player that I’ve ever seen. I hope that Angel fans aren’t cheating themselves due to jealousy or Dodgers hate.

Dude looked completely lost and pulls this out in a game his pitches? Mind blowing.

Agree with your main premise. It’s just laundry that differentiates Ohtani as a Dodger versus an Angel. As I get older, my partisan passion has ebbed and I appreciate amazing individual performances like we saw tonight.

Funny how baseball ‘fans’ worldwide are like oh mah gawd #17 (haven’t watched a single pitch of game 4 NLCS). Watching ball instead.

Also, I tuned out after the GS in the mariners games, but dug the big dumper tying it up.

Dichotomy.
