We’re only 8 games out of 1st in the AL West…which feels kinda insane to me. Do I think we’ll overtake…whoever? The Trash-Holes? Naw. It’s just that…we’re soooo bad. We lost that one guy to FA, ya know the Japanese dude. And MNT has been injured all season and tonight had to be taken out for knee soreness. I for one am not hanging my hat on MNT coming back this year. Maybe he comes back, I don’t know. Would he contribute? I’d like to think so, but it’s just not how this team rolls, it seems.

Play the Kids. Play ’em.

Our run differential stands at -94 right now. We’re not the Cleveland Spiders, who finished with a -723 run differential. But they were so 1899. We’re not even this year’s Chisox, who are at -193 right now. I think they can reach -250. I really do.

We’re about to deal the only SP we have that’s worth a damn. I hope we get someone good; someone who can contribute both this season and next.

We’re only 8 back with a week left before the trading deadline and then Aug 1st.

It just seems…weird to me. Doesn’t it feel like we’re 30 games out of 1st?

Got a massive shipment of Black Tar Hopium in from Happy County the other day. I prefer to snort it straight. You shouldda seen the marks up and down my arm last year when Arte and Perry decided to stay with Ohtani and make a run. I really needed it, as we did nothing but lose from that point on. Nothing but lose. Losses, losing, loose talk and sorrow. Talk about “strung out”!

Took the edge off…and it has skirted the FDA and DEA: The stuff’s still legal, technically.

Yeah, the Angels are a funny team. At times it seems like they can beat anybody. I mean we now have a winning record against the best team in the division with a 5-4 mark against the Mariners after beating them for the 5th straight time and winning a second straight series against them. We also came within one pitch of winning a three game series against the Phillies. At the same time we have a losing record of 4-5 vs the A’s who are the worst team in the division… So….

As for Trout it is becoming increasingly obvious that he will have to be relegated to DH duties from here on out and whatever remains of his career. I know he doesn’t want that, and in fact took the rout he did specifically so he COULD continue to play CF or OF. But this is just a hard reality. All the innings have taken their toll. His body is beginning to break down. We knew this time would come, and it is here.

I feel he can still hit, that is he can still be a highly productive bat when he does play. But going from 1st to 3rd like he used to or sprinting full speed in the gaps are a thing of the past for him. He just will have to accept the power-hitting DH role. A serious talk needs to be had between he and Wash.

I’m on the fence on this season but there’s no reason to punt on 2025.

The division has been weak. The M’s benefited from a favorable schedule but are now regressing back to a .500 team. I also give credit to Ron Washington for improving the kids. When the Angels are bad, they are really bad but at other times they look pretty good. We are 13 games below .500 so there is that but I have enjoyed this season more than that last few seasons of mediocrity with two generational talents on the team.

Even if it would take 85 games to win the division we’d have to finish 41-20

Thus, make the decision on Anderson this week

Start Suarez and Cueto! Sign Paxton! Let us get this done! ALL IN!

If the Dodgers are paying for Paxton, then he would make sense as a stop gap in the rotation just to have someone decent to start. He is still a serviceable pitcher unlike Cueto.

If only we were his single option. Word is Paxton is receiving interest from the Red Sox, a team he’s familiar with and that is closer to a playoff spot than us. Maybe if he really doesn’t want to leave SoCal

I think then that he would want to compete in the playoffs.
