LA Angels Tuesday News Crash

Attended a game at Fenway last night. What an incredible baseball experience. So much more “real” than in Anaheim. Everything about it from the walk over the Charles River from MIT to the old-school bars and outside atmosphere to the historic park to the organ music to the real fans who did not sit on their hands – it was all just thrilling. Yes there was occasional amplified music but only short stints and much quieter (lower decibel level) than Anaheim.

Fans paid attention – in a full house I saw maybe 10% with their cellphones out. Otherwise they were watching the game intently and no big hands on the video board telling you when to clap or “Get Loud” or fake clapping sounds. Just authentic wonderful baseball.

Food was great – even the Fenway Frank was way superior to an Angel dog – with a great tasting hot dog and soft fluffy high quality bun. . And the lobstah roll was truly excellent and fresh. And cold beer served in the stands (with the great majority walking home or to their hotels so have a few extra beers) with the hot dog guy bringing warm hot dogs and separate buns and constructing your dog seat side.

No wonder real Bostonians come to Anaheim and view Angel Stadium and the Angel Stadium experience as a joke. There is just zero comparison – yes both are in MLB but it absolutely stops there.
