Can we please keep Detmers now? Trade Neto and Schanny to keep the rebuild going, but keep Reid as we have the makings of a good starting pitching staff. Losing Arte alone isn’t going to put butts in seats. There still has be someone to watch.

I picked all of my teams when I was just a kid (Angels, Rams, Kings, Lakers) and have never changed despite wishing to many times. The Rams have been exceptionally well run with KSE and ownership has let the football people make decisions.

I couldn’t have envisioned a better resolution to the Angels need to recast themselves. I’ve got to wonder if this was in the offing before they brought in Moz.

So this really is the best you could ever hope for and beyond your wildest dreams. The new owner already owns other successful sports franchises. He has tremendous resources and he has a track record of hiring good people and letting them do their job so he will be very hands off. I am really happy for everyone here.
With that said, Baseball is not like some of the other sports. It does not presently have an even playing field and things cannot happen over night. It will take some time, probably years to get the organization to get where we would like it to be. The pitching is ready, or will be ready to compete the next season we play. The Bullpen can probably be rebuilt in that time to partner with the starting pitching, but the position players are years behind. I would really like for us to stop hiring place holders and just start assembling a good team, incrementally, piece by piece. it it means we’re not ready until 2029 or 2030, so be it, Let’s move forward though and continue moving forward. Between this and UCLA firing their AD and hiring a new and qualified head football coach, my sports life is looking up.
I hope everyone has a great day and celebrates appropriately.

Joking reference to the Rams 2022 run. It will take some time and patience to get there.

Gonna need to see that ink dry and not let this loser rope-a-dope (hope-a-dope?) me again.

But easily one of my favorite days following the team. Legit ‘ding dong the witch is dead’ moment.

I’ve stopped reading blogs, listening to podcasts and watching the games since May. The Angels losing ways just didn’t help my already existent low spirits. Now I’m excited again to see what happens.

Attendance has suffered in recent years, particularly after the “fans don’t care about winning” comment. What will be interesting to watch is whether attendance sees a noticeable increase over the final eight home games following this announcement.

I’m sure there are some fans who vowed not to attend games while Arte was the owner, including me, that may now decide to come out and support the team or celebrate the news of new ownership. Time will tell whether that sentiment translates into a meaningful boost in attendance.

I’m wasn’t planning in any September games, but I AM NOW! To be fair, I’m a raging cuckold who still goes to 6-10 games a year.

I vowed to not support the Angels in any way, shape or form when Ohtani left due to Arte not wanting to match the offer. I haven’t been to an Angels game since that season, and now I plan on going tomorrow in celebration. Maybe I’m delusional, but it does feel like when you start taking actions to hurt the pockets of the owner, they will take action and move on. What a great f’ing day this is.

If the new ownership shit cans “Buttercup”, I’ll be sufficiently satisfied. Any improvements beyond that will be icing on the proverbial cake.

AI search of HH was fruitless. SBN gutted that damn site – such a shame.

The search did come up with this:
“ It has been phased out in favor of a rotation of other songs. An MLB.com article from February 11, 2021 (“A brief history of Angel Stadium’s music”) states: “For a while, the Angels played The Foundations’ ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ during the seventh-inning stretch… But it’s been phased out in recent years, with the Angels playing a variety of songs during the stretch instead.”

So I was likely right – 2019 or so it was pulled.
