The Astros offense was too much for Angels pitchers tonight. The Stros were up 8-2 in just the 4th inning, and were 6-13 with runners in scoring position. Compared to the Angels who were 1-7(through the 4th inning). Astros ended up scoring 2 more runs in the 7th inning, and the Halos mustered up 2 runs in the top of the 9th. Also, pointing out when the opponent dominates with 20 hits it’s nearly impossible to win.
Astros win 10-4.
Maybe Angels need to model themselves like a American Central club. Watching Guardians win division again is amazing. How do they do it, lineup with Ramirez, Kwan, Naylor and nobodies. Lost ace Bieber, and has been Giolito, yet still find ways to win. None of the teams in that division spend $$. They always manage to draft and bring up good players, unfortunately most who walk after a few years. Angels need to be like that, but easier said then done. With big dogs Astros and Rangers who spend $$ it’s more challenging. But it could happen, starting with focusing on pitchers. Nobody’s going to sign here now, so we have to develop them ourselves. Let’s win today ! Can’t get swept again by these bums!
Today’s Lineups

It’s never good when Drury AND Lopez are in the same starting lineup.
Schanuel has a hitting streak and has been making better contact lately but we sit him so we can play .165 hitting Drury who won’t even be on the team next year.
TANK commander decision
Go Tigers!! They also have seven left finishing with three vs CWS.
Would like to see Detroit reach the postseason. Playing good ball at the right time as are Jerry’s Kids (boo).
Baseball is a game that rewards consistency and punishes inconsistency. Many players can have a great start or two or punish the ball for a few weeks. But then the law of averages catches up and they are terrible for long stretches.
Unfortunately the Angels have a lineup chock full of inconsistent players.
As well as the fact that when everyone was healthy they were still 4 players short and other than Trout, the other players were only a little better than average. And you are absolutely right they have players who are either on fire or awful.
Marlins (57-98)
Rockies (60-95)
Angels (62-93)
Can we catch Colorado for the 2nd best lottery odds? 7 games to find out !
I think we will go 2-5 over these last seven…64-98 overall.
Rockies have 4 with blue (including today) and 3 with STL.
Damn, what does that say about the league when 4 teams can actually lose 100 games in same season.
What’s even worse, none of those teams have had a Trout and Ohtani on roster over the past 5 years….
Our fall to the bottom is worse because of the level of talent we’ve had over the past few seasons
Okay…Can Canning?
Viewership for that game will be likely beyond minuscule with NFL games competition.
Playing the “kids” is fun and exciting!
I served a purpose this year as it pointed out that other than O’Hoppe and Neto, the rest of the youth can’t be counted on. Moniak and Adell had an opportunity to step up and they did not. Schanuel is only 22 and should have been in the minors this year with perhaps his rookie year next year, much like Neto should have been in the minors last year. Bringing players up before they are ready just demonstrates bad judgement.
The Detmers implosion is a terrible outcome for a franchise in re-build mode.
Our current best 5 are in no particular order:
Soriano
Anderson
Silent C
The Italian (??)
Canning (???)
I’m sure we all predicted this 5 months ago.
Yea, Detmers is a problem right now.
Realistically, he’s a #5 coming into ST. And that’s being generous.
1. Soriano
2. Anderson (trade piece)
3. Silent C
4. Canning
5. Detmers
6. Suarez (I know)
7. Silseth (hurt)
8. Bachman (hurt/should be a RP)
9. Dana (not ready)
10 Aldegheri (not ready)
11. Klassen (not ready)
12. Sandoval (TJ surgery)
That group looks. like 95-100 losses to me.
Agree…we’re screwed!!
Afraid so. Soriano still has training wheels on and Anderson is severe regression candidate (it’s already started). League will catch up with Silent C and hit some Loud HRs.
We all know how consistent No. 4, 5 and 6 are but I think they can contribute.
Have zero faith in No. 7, 8, 10 and 12 from ever becoming contributors.
Put Detmers in the pen.
You misspelled Triple A.
Made me laugh!!
And Anderson and Canning will be gone after next year.
We are still alive for 100 losses, well, got to root for something to remember post Ohtani, right? 😪
We should all be rooting for them to lose out for better position in the lottery. Winning any of the 7 left means absolutely zero from anything other than an emotional standpoint.
guessed 9-2 loss and wasn’t far off. Then I realized it was detmers that got shelled. Just yikes.
Don’t worry its almost Gitchos feeding time he will be along soon to tell us all how to think. Hrrr drrr bad baseball players grrrr good players on other teams. :flirby jurby I watch other teams. Arg Jarhg Artie evil. CTPGs guys are all bitches. Something like that.
Anyways another ass whoopin so I guess It’s just a normal Saturday night
Magic number is 7
Mine is one game just to avoid the 100-loss season.
It’s a coin flip still.
I would actually like to see them lose 100. It would put an exclamation point on how bad they are. We are likely to win at least one game in each of the next 2 series though so you should be OK. We may even win today. It is highly unlikely we loose the next 7 in a row. Our bullpen is too good for that to happen.
I agree with every take. Well done.
Detmers is definitely an Ace!
He brings a whole new definition to the phrase “anchoring the rotation”.
I swear he threw a no hitter once, right? Right???
😭😭😭

Etc.
Unless it’s digital,then it’s never right.
