Angels Fall Short in the Late Innings

Although his typical role for the Halos is out of the bullpen, Jose Suarez started tonight. For the majority of his start he was able to miss barrels and get out’s. Yordan had an 111MPH lineout and Jeremy Pena had a couple balls hit above 95MPH but other than that, contact was relatively weak. His final stat line 5IP, 1R, 0ER, and 3 hits.

The Angels got their scoring early going with a lead-off home run off the bat of Taylor Ward.

There wasn’t much action from either team for a few innings on the offensive side. Although on the defensive side Jack Lopez made a great play up the middle. Sadly there is no video but he was looking like prime Andrelton Simmons.

The Astros tied it up in the 4th with a single from Victor Carintini.

Even with traffic and no outs Suarez was able to get out of the inning with no more harm.

There were a few hits here and there for both teams, until the 8th when the Astros had bases loaded and 2 outs with Jon Singleton up . He did this…..

Hader came in to close it for the Stros and got the save.

Astros 3 Angels 1.

Ohtani’s historic day was unbelievable. Have to just be in awe of a player with that ability. And he can pitch! Holy shit.
