Jon Singleton doubled in the eighth inning to make it 3-1 Astros. Need I say more? The Angels lost by that score.

Last night I was writing in my journal and the idea that Ohtani was at 48 HRs and 49 SBs, with 10 games left: totally unbelievable yet true. And I realized I wanted him to get to 50/50 but a lot of the time the pressure is too much and the guy goes into a slump for a few games. I just wanted him to get it done, sooner rather than later.
But I never dreamed that a few hours later, he’d go 6 for 6 with 3 HRs, 2 bags, 2 doubles, a single, and 10 RBIs.
That we had Trout and Ohtani and couldn’t even make the playoffs. Struggled to get to .500: that’s on Arte and his shoddy org.
Last year, at the deadline, they decided to not trade Shohei and make a run for the playoffs, then immediately went, IIRC, 2-8 over the first 10 after the deadline: I mean…some of us have had quite enough of this shabby, contemptible organization.
I’m still an Angels fan. Since 1970. But make no mistake, no matter what you write here, or say to your friends, we are an effing laughingstock. I love the players. I despise the owner and management.
