LA Angels Monday News Crash: Sandoval IL

Patrick Sandoval is on the 15 day injured list with the dreaded forearm tightness after leaving Friday nights game against the Dodgers. Yet another farm ranking has the Angels in the bottom.

Blue Jays infielder Orelvis Martinez just got suspended for 80 games without pay effective immediately after he tested positive for Clomiphene. The Blue Jays then claimed right-hander Jose Cuas off waivers from the Cubs. The Reds just designated Austin Wynns for assignment to make room for Livan Soto who they called up from Triple-A. The Rangers activated Max Scherzer from the injured list where he had been languishing all season after surgery for a herniated disc. Giancarlo Stanton has a left hamstring strain which has gotten him placed on the ten day IL. They think it might be eight weeks before he is back. The Yankees acquired J.D. Davis from the Athletics for Jordan Groshans and cash. They designated ground ball specialist Victor Gonzalez for assignment. Ahmed Rosario took a 100 mph pitch the face and only ended up with two stitches.

Sandoval is a loser on the mound. Maybe he’s a nice person and obviously he’s accomplished a lot by reaching the big leagues etc, but he’s a drain in the team with his poor attitude reflected on how poorly his teammates play around him. I see this as addition by subtraction, he loses game after game and it’s a trend for several seasons now. Move on from him.

And my sources in the dugout tell me hes a complete hot head. Which is consistent with his meltdowns on the mound when things dont go his way.

Safe bet says Sandy has thrown his last pitch in an Angels uniform.

Sucks to see after the promise he showed in the last few years.

Next man up. Hello Silseth.

I think he’s a free agent in ‘26 or ‘27

A lot can happen in 1.5+ years.

Won’t surprise me if he’s not part of the future by then.

it depends whether the Angels offer him Arbitration next year or the year after. if so the earliest he would be a free agent would be after 2026 season.

Go red team

It’s unbelievable – the home grown greatest player ever is complimented by a world class foreign player, both MVPs at their peaks, and yet the franchise wasted their talent and they can’t win a championship

Ffs what’s wrong with them?

And, may Dr. Nicks‘s hands be steady. And, may Hot Dogs not be on the hospital lunch menu.

Next 13 games come against Oakland, Detroit, Oakland and Chicago Cubs.

As long as Neto plays, we are going on a winning streak.

Neto, Trout, Rendon, and Ohtan’s ghost can all play and this team will never go 10-3.

Sandoval’s injury comes at an inopportune time as he probably could have yielded a prospect or two. My guess is he is untradable unless/until he makes another start without injury. Hopefully he can do that before the trading deadline.

But on the bright side WE DID IT!

CTPG Shit Sippers Lodge #27 came together AGAIN this summer. We’d already bitch powered Rendon and Trout into another dead season…. but that was not even close to how powerful our weak shit is. We turned our focus onto Sandoval back in March cause we just don’t like that guy, kept pissing on him like the internet’s our high school and he’s Martha Dumptruck and…. glory glory! His elbow’s likely fkd!

I wonder, if we focus enough, can we get Griffin Canning to snap in half like a high milage GI Joe action figure? With CTPG Pissant Ju Ju I bet we can! It will be gross, but we’ll all feel like the team is bullshit instead of it’s fans for at least a week after all that gore. Maybe we can even get that nagging sense that Arte is the owner a pile of negative trash like us deserves? Yeah? Here’s to dark rooms and box wine while watching Charles Spurgen pitch in September!

Nice one taking Sanó out too.
Hicks and Adrianza ? – no need for veterans!

considering we’ve proven that Adell and Moniak are confirmed busts, Canning will be easy.

We could catch a couple losing teams in the standings this week so next June we would have a better shot at #1. That and trade deadline deals are worth waiting for, the trades will be exciting to9 watch and see how those new kids develop.

From the funny stuff department, A week or so ago there was a promotion at the Big A for a Mike Trout bobble head and another one for a free Angels clear plastic backpack. I posted that the doll did not even look like Trouty and some here agreed with that. Gramma Baseball and I attended an event for the Lions Club and bought 25 tickets for blind auction and came home with those two items. Oh boy, if that is Mike Trouts likeness on the bobblehead I’m a monkey’s uncle, we had a god laugh. Someone saw what that doll looked like and donated it quick. 😂 😄 😆

We got it for about the secondary market price for an Angels ticket price, funny stuff, the laughs were worth our $25 bucks. The folks at our table took one look at the doll as it was passed around, and the Angels were the laughingstock. Arte was not well liked either. Funny stuff.

A’s are worse than us…what does that mean?

Fansince1971

Their payroll is $75 million to the Angels $184 million. So from a dollar per win perspective A’s are much better.

Food for thought:

The Angels payroll of players on the injured list exceeds the A’s payroll in its entirety.

Fun stuff.

Don’t Trout and Rendon earn more collectively that the entire A’s team?

Here’s hoping the power of Angels fan mewling reaches heights where the baseball gods truly curse us and we can be the A’s. It can happen. The East Bay is basically the same market size as the Angel’s secondary LA/Inland Empire/OC market yet they act like they play in Tulsa. We could luck out and Arte keeps the team, or his kids do so, and they just let it rot in an old shitty Big A while making a nice profit on a team with an 80M payroll, dinky TV contract, no radio affiliate, drawing 7K fans a game.

The Salt Lake Bees will outdraw us and we will finally become the wasteland of justified bitching that the fans have hoped for deep in their hearts since about 2008.

Maybe the ju ju can really win and the stadium burns down or we get contracted or moved to Nashville. Then we’ll truly be best baseball fans ever who know what’s really happening and were not fooled again into trying to actually enjoy having a team.

We can do it people! Feed the power of the burial ground!
