7-2 Dodgers
Tyler Glasnow was efficient and effective against the young Angels lineup, taking a mere 74 pitches to strike out 10 across 7 innings. It’d be a real treat to write an article about that, now wouldn’t it?
Instead, I had the privilege to see Zach Plesac’s sophomore start of the season. It certainly could have been worse, but the light left my eyes in the third after the 4th or 5th hammered ball and the 4-run deficit. The Angels tried to battle back a little bit, but he’d allow 2 more runs in the bottom of the 4th to make it a bit of a laugher.
Adding on to the woes, Zach Neto left the game with calf tightness after diving on a play. It’s honestly surprising he didn’t leave even earlier after he smacked a ball into his leg so hard that he collapsed to the ground for a solid few minutes.
The Angels keep Angelsing, but we split the series and head alllll the way back home to see the A’s after resting up on Sunday.

Esteves is a decent BP piece…..
……So long as you don’t pitch him on consecutive days.
In the famous words of Dirty Harry, “A man has got to know his limitations”.
Wow So Prophetic . Dirty Harry was quite closer. Of course he could never remember how many batters he had faced ( was it 5?or was it 6?)
Touche
Just curious why they would have Plesac actually pitch to Ohtani? And he grooved one center of the plate lower in the zone, into Ohtani’s wheelhouse. There was room on the bases to walk him. Let another guy attempt to beat you.
Second time this season we have a weird day off, didn’t we have Memorial Day off too?
Arte probably volunteered to take the holidays off with MLB……so he doesn’t have to pay his employees time and 1/2……stupid, cheap Art.
With a weak at best scouting staff, it is hard to be able to draft properly. Don’t blame PTP for all that ails this team, no one can play poker with a deck of 48 cards and that is what this team does.
And the deck is missing it’s Ace’s.
Arte and his buddies need to read the how to play card
The Angels have a hard time telling the truth about injuries. Hope Neto is OK, but in his short career he seems to deal with a lot of injuries imho. I do believe that currently he is my favorite player this season though, in the field he is outstanding……Logan can make contact with power, too bad he is stuck at catching, shortens a career back there. Would like him to learn fist base with Trout and see them share PT there with Logan spelling Trout there once or twice a week. Sure wish Walsh didn’t fadeout, what a glove.
My guess is Drury is next to rejoin the Injury List. .I’m sure Neto’s injury will be D2D for about a week until he finally gets on board the IL Join.
5 days without Drury since he played last, 1/2 a stint in the 10 day IL (several off days mixed in there).
Let’s safely assume he won’t play tomorrow, that 6 days with a player unavailable. And if I remember his is an illness too. Shits Mcgee.
They had no problem bringing up Paris and having him shit his pants while playing, why not now? Still believe they are skimping on shit.
I hope neto’s isn’t an acl tear.
Fouled a ball of the inside of his knee, aggravated it with the play at short, sounds like getting hit in the nuts, or in this case, the knee.
*All injuries opinions are based on our eye test by CTPG guy and information given to us by the Angels.
********Anything medical related info given by the Angels is not to be trusted. We are not sure if one exists. Rule of thumb, wait 1 week from injury, what ever they say recovery time is, 3X it….(if it’s Trout x6).
CB26 understands.
The way it twitched and went straight at the end of the play makes me think that it’s an acl. I hope not.
“The way it twitched and went straight at the end”….,
Sounds like me when I see a pretty lady 😂
The Dodgers are having issues with injuries-how many are related to playing on that playing field of concrete? Their fielding issues certainly are….Shohei is certainly one of the most unique players of his generation no doubt about it, but before being considered the greatest ever let’s give him another ten years to putting up numbers. Remember fielding is in the equation also to being one of the best ever of all time. Right now, I think Suzuki rates as the best MLB Japanese player of all time, Shohei may or may not surpass him, we’ll see…
Today’s Lineups…NOT!!!
I’m mildly concerned about Neto’s ability to stay on the field. As much as I like Zach and Logan, we still need a lot of players to become good.
He’s a tough kid, have a feeling he might be one of those that can and will play through some injuries.

Today is a day off for everyone. That helps. Neto is a quality player. Lots of guys have dealt with injuries over time but keep going. I wouldn’t worry for now.
I missed the game but see that Hans Crouse struck out 2 in one perfect inning of work.
He looked good for an inning. Hopefully Hans doesn’t have an evil twin Franz……The one that Pumps up his ERA into the 5’s like most of our pitchers.
I thought his brothers name was Simon Gruber.
He was Great and said he worked hard for the 1st time to get back to the show.
Hopefully he doesn’t fall off of Nakatomi Plaza.
I know we try and pretend Shohei doesn’t exist anymore, but gawd damn he’s that freaking dude. Best baseball player of all time.
Be thankful for the memories, because we had no business employing him for 6 seasons. It’s still, and will forever be, F-ck the Dodgers.
Also, idc that Wash said our pitching coaches don’t believe Detmers and Silseth are ready to come back up. We literally have no other options.
Sandoval = impending TJ surgery
Anderson = impending trade
Soriano = stomach infection
Canning = 1st inning-itis
Detmers = broken brain
Silseth = is he even healthy ?
in AAA
Davis Daniel
Kenny Rosenberg
Brett Kerry
Plesac
in AA
Caden Dana
Sam Bachman
Victor Mederos
Jack Kochanowicz
YIKES
At least Perry drafted all pitchers a few years ago. Surely a handful of those guys are about ready to contribute. 🙄
I would call it a successful draft if Bachman and Silseth become mainstays in our rotation.
And that’s a Hulk-sized if 😬😬😬
We will be lucky if either Silseth or Bachman is a rotation mainstay. Hopefully one can do it.
Bachman pitches today at AA. if he comes out unscathed and gets his pitch count up to 75 pitches you may see him this Friday in Anaheim
Welp the good news is he got up to 74 pitches today and only walked one batter. The Bad news is San=m didnt take care of business today as he gave up 7 hits including Two 2 run HR’s in only 4-1/3 innings of work.
I have no idea what the radar gun was showing but I really doubt even Perry would bring him up to the big club this week in order to get him his first big league start.
No lies detected.
Who?
I’ll take a split with the Blew Crew.
To be fair regarding Plesac, he can’t be held accountable for how far the hitters blast his pitches
Good try Angles but god $$$ squad showed up tonight. Often hurt Glasnow looking like Cy young now of course. Wow what happened to Pepiot on Rays now sucking? Of course there’s no juice we are just jealous, right Blue closet on this site? Im just glad to end 10 game losing steak last night. Nice HR again Easy Way, sorry you don’t have Ippei anymore to bet against the Angels for you.
Win 2, lose 3 in any order. That’s how you end up with 64 or 65 wins.
Still, that means we’ll win more in the future, like when we play Oakland or the White Sox
Not gonna lie I put money on the Dodgers to win by 2.5+ tonight.
Writing was on the wall – their ace vs a minor league contract guy for us, their offense likely not to be quieted two games in a row, and our bullpen was spent after yesterday.
Not sure what to make of Ohtani’s bat flip. I didn’t think I could ever dislike him, and I completely understood him choosing the dodgers. But watching that while he is wearing that uniform, it made me feel weird feelings about him.
O’Hoppe continues to be a stud. Future cornerstone of this team.
Don’t feel bad for mixed feelings about Ohtani. He was a stud for the Angels but end of the day he wants the easiest way to a championship, and that is not us. He had his sights on Dodgers already so don’t listen to people arguing he offered Angels to match contract $ and they didn’t. That’s a worthless excuse, cause even if we matched he would have left for Doyers
Even if the Angels offered more he was gone. That is why it was ridiculous to not trade him. The writing was clearly on the wall.
He probably didn’t want to be traded, just finish out the year and become a free agent.
Arte didnt want him traded. It was his own hubris and stupidity that left his franchise with nothing.
Well arte wanted him in the first place and ohtani picked the angels so the arte = devil isn’t correct at all.
I never said he was a devil. But I’m saying hes an idiot. Trading away a few months of remaining Gate receipts and marketing revenue for the potential development of future stars and winning baseball does not sound like a long term sound business decision.
I say he is the devil…..and an idiot. An idiotic evil devil if you ask me.
Is he still an idiot for keeping ohtani if ohtani never wanted to be traded?
Yes. We are all Angel fans first. NOT just Ohtani fans (Except for Mr. Chan of course)
Noted and good perspective. I also still remember when Shohei came back from the off-season seemingly having gained like 15 pounds of pure muscle. Keep that in mind as to longevity etc also.
That contract he signed, with the deferrals, was Lebron levels of trying to just buy a championship ring. Screw Ohtani.
I don’t see the comparison, LeBron takes every penny he can get up front no matter how much cap space he eats up. Ohtani is playing for free to help the Doyers get as many extra players as possible. Not that I appreciate it’s for the Doyers, but it is what it is.
Say Whut? I know we are experiencing unprecedented inflation but $700 million is still a shitpile of money even it takes 20 years to get it all.
Yeah, the Dodgers are going to eventually have to pay him and let’s see what the contract looks like when he is 35. Maybe the Dodgers will have 2-3 World Series rings by then and won’t care but let’s see.
and, Starting in 2034, Ohtani will receive $68 million per year from the Dodgers, ending in 2043.
I realize that inflation will eat into this but imagine paying someone $68 million a year for 9 years after the player has retired. Again, let’s see how it works out.
With $68 million per year…..in 2034? Can you imagine what Las Vegas will be like then! He and Eppei can get the gambling ring back together. That’s assuming Eppei will be out of jail by then.
Just walk up the counter and place your wager, no more annoying illegal Bookies causing you problems.
That would be 3 or 4 World Series rings since 1988. As everyone agrees, 2020 doesn’t count, sorry Doyers😀
I know the Angels won’t win a ring in that time frame, so it will be fun rooting agains the doyers during it.
Bron can’t buy a ring, his salary is too high.
It could have gone better, to say the least.
