That’s a wrap, folks. We sincerely appreciate you hanging around and talking Angels with us this season. Stick around for post season threads and off season talk. The off season gets really fun around here.

As it turned out, 90 wins would have qualified for playoff spot. In National League, 84 wins. For playoff games, I will be cheering for the Orioles because of Adley Rutschman and the Phillies because of former Angel Brandon Marsh.
I say this win postpones Phil’s firing by 24+ hours but no more than 48 hours
Baseball Gods have mercy on our souls..
Finally over.
Light that Baby up as the Halo shines bright in the Western Skies tonight.
Time to piss on the fire and call in the dogs GPB. Finally over. Get ready for a long wet, cold winter!
Goodbye 2023 season!
And good riddance!
I am both glad and sad at the same time that this season is over.
Major disappointment. People need to be held accountable. I had predicted 92 wins, remained positive all the way up to the deadline, then boom, just a weak performance the last two months.
The Angels won the season series against the A’s.
We need a post for each of us to list our 5 top players to be GONE next year. There are so many good choices!
We should start a poll of the roster and let folks select. I guess we would not include expiring contracts (aka Loup).
Go Jimmy GO!
And that muff is a metaphor for the team and the season.
Phillips left a bad impression there.
Neto made that look really easy.
I can’t believe Nevin didn’t PH Schanuel there and potentially kill his on-base streak.
And miss a marketing opportunity.
I expected it
Boy … Adell really looks great
Fantastic! 5 year contract!
His strikeouts are looking better.
This was the season of Shohei for sure, but Drury didn’t suck. Neto and O’Hoppe have more experience, Thaiss arrived, Ward showed he can be in the lineup as a regular, Moniak became a Maniak, so there it is, we had some possible ’24 sightings this year.
And don’t forget Nolan Schanuel
I’m wondering why O’Hoppe has played just about every minute of every game for the past month.
A. Gain more experience
B. Thaiss and Wallach suck
C. Pitchers demanded him
Good question.
All of the above.
And, they want to see if his shoulder blows up and implodes on itself. That way they can get his surgery out of the way before spring training.
Nevin advised there will be no more scheduled days off for the yuts.
D. He wanted to
This may be the smallest crowd I’ve ever seen here.
So sad but understandable.
I’m guessing around 12,000
They’ll announce a crowd of 29,000.
And that we drew 3,000,000 fans!
Exactly, because they count paid attendance – season ticket holders who don’t show up. Years ago, they used to tell us both. Paid and actual butts in seats.
26539 according to Terry Smith.
Ha! Lots of folks paid for seats and stayed away.
Morning rain spooked them?
Possibiy
Not even close.
I’ve seen crowds to see the Halos at 1500 folks. In the ’70s I saw 3500 folks. By ’77 it started to grow as the team was getting better. Tanana and Ryan then there’s cryin’.
I see 18k easily – in the house.
Has there ever been a brawl on the final day?
This is as closest to the last day as possible. This is when pitchers used to have to bat. Good O’l time.

Thank you sir for that reporting.
Right on the wrist.
For the play at second base to be that close, Neto must have admired his almost homer a while.
Terry Smith said on radio that if he did not get to 2nd base, Nevin might have pulled him.
That would have been something to see and a big embarrassment to Neto.
That is exactly what I thought…Cadillac glide
Neto with a head sliding double. I wonder if Sho gave him some advice in the bench.
