Today we got Reid Detmers versus Logan Gilbert up in Seattle. Shohei Ohtani was a late scratch. Zach Neto started the game today for a welcome change.
Inning 1:
The Angels did nothing. J.P. Crawford singled. So did Julio Rodriguez. First and third with no outs. A deep fly by Teoscar Hernandez would have been a homer but Jordyn Adams robbed it.
Crawford still did score and Rodriguez advanced to second. 1-0 Mariners. Cal Raleigh hit his 28th homer. 3-0 Mariners.
Inning 2:
Mike Moustakas singled and Logan O’Hoppe homered to make it 3-2 Mariners.
The Mariners did nothing.
Inning 3:
Frankly, nobody did anything of note in this inning.
Inning 4:
Logan O’Hoppe hit a solo home run to tie the game.
Innings 5 through nine:
Nothing. Detmers did give up a double and hit a guy in separate innings. Logan O’Hoppe doubled in the eighth so Seattle hit Randal Grichuk by a pitch.
Seattle did hit three singles in the ninth off of Aaron Loup but the Angels did not give up a run amazingly enough.
Inning 10:
Brandon Drury homered, scoring ghost runner Jordyn Adams. 5-3 Angels.
Julio Rodriguez homered to drive in ghost runner Dominic Canzone. 5-5 tie. Teoscar Hernandez walked. Luckily Brian O’Keefe grounded into a double play to send things into the eleventh inning.
Inning 11:
Kyren Paris was at second and Eduardo Escobar singled to bring up Randal Grichuk who also singled to drive in Kyren Paris. 6-5 Angels.
Brett Phillips grounded one to the pitcher who gunned down Eduardo Escobar at home plate. It was upheld on a challenge. Phillips reached first and Randal Grichuk made it to second. Jordyn Adams singled to score Grichuk. 7-5 Angels.
Nolan Schanuel singled to score Brett Phillips. 8-5 Angels.
Zach Neto walked to chase Seattle pitcher Gabe Speier from the game. Brandon Drury hit a fly ball for the third out. Eugenio Suarez struck out. Ty France flied out to left. Jarred Kelenic grounded out to finalize a satisfying 8-5 Angels win.

Mariners are so bad that we even demolished them with THIS lineup:
Is this where we start convincing ourselves that we have a nice young core and if Trout can stay healthy, maybe add another starter or two, we have a chance!
Our young core is nice ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Sadly, I can’t convince myself that Trout will play 100+ games in a season ever again
Hopefully 29 other teams aren’t as smart as you.
No. I could go on. Oh yes, I certainly could. It might reach book length.
No Ohtani, no ace, no bullpen, etc.
All I seen was book
And books have pages.
Turn the page…
Which Volume?
Ok, go on. So, we need a starter or two (one of which is an ‘ace’), a DH (to replace Ohtani, presuming he doesn’t stay, could be named Trout), and some more pieces for the bullpen (presuming that none of our injured bullpen pieces are useful – that is Bachman, Warren, Quijada, Rodriguez, Barria, and I guess we are looking at the viability of Joyce and Suarez now).
That said, this is a lot less than we have ‘needed’ for a long time. We are set at C (O’Hoppe, Thaiss), 1B (Schanuel), 2B (Drury), SS (Neto), 3B (Rendon, for a long as he lasts), Bullpen IF (Rengifo, Paris), LF (Ward), CF (Trout), RF (Moniak), with Adell, Adams in the wings.
And with Ohtani presumably leaving, and all the other contracts off the books (Moore, Urshela, Renfroe, Lopez, Giolito, Grichuk, Tepera, and presumably buying out Escobar and Loup) there is a bit of money for upgrades where we need them.
It is the yearly ritual. It’s certainly how the Platypus and Arte operate hence the lack of a rebuild. They hear the sirens song of “we just need to reload”.
The bar to assess the “young core” needs to be Atlanta. By no stretch of the imagination is our “young core” anywhere close to the young talent that Atlanta has.
Weave don’t believe in coming out after 90 pitches.
He also doesn’t believe in 90 MPH fastballs.
So original. Older generations criticizing those that came after.
This new gen also believes in exercise and throwing over 90 MPH.
I love Weave, but he has some Boomer takes.
Yes, Mike?
your comment about Weave makes me:
Just wait until I start in on how i’m 100% in the trade Trout camp.
My heart can’t take on that discussion. The only way we trade Trouty is if he asks out.
He deserves a chance to win on a legit team. We deserve a chance to rebuild without considering wasting him.
But if he’s happy in OC, collecting those checks, playing golf in October, then let him stay.
With Ohtani leaving, what’s left to stick around for?
Waste of his time and ours.
At least he know’s how to take care of Smug face candy ass Mariners.

If only we could all solve our problems by throwing baseballs at each other.
The older I get, the more immature shit like this comes across.
“Now I’m fukin ready”
Kirby is a pansy.
The image behind him should have been a train wreck.
Meh, broken down truck works too
Or a fire
No more Loup, nickname should be ‘Poup’ cause he pitches like crap. Don’t let Poup blow anymore games !
I posted the original, as he did “well” tonight.
Here’s the reason why i took the original since Loup sucked so bad, I had to revise it:
Is it just me or is anyone else sick and tired of Loup? 😀
I dont know. I guess we can put up with him for one more year.
It’s A A Ron!!!!!
Proof that reverse psychology works with tonight’s win.
Yep. Now that we root for the tank, we start winning. 🤣
Highlights of the game
1. O’Hoppe’s 2 HRs
2. The joy the Ms fans had when Paris didn’t score
3. The joy they had when Rodriguez homered
Leading to…
4. The way they feel now
Glad I didn’t have to watch their post game on-field Riverdance. Whew!
No thanks. I wouldn’t do that with Hell’s member
Fun win! Happy to see sad Mariner fans especially coach buttchin
It’s butterface to you, mister.

Upping the change-up usage will turn this kid into the ace he is destined to become IMO
Stuck in high gear tonight
We’re on the march now !!!
YOU
CAN’T
MAKE
THIS
SHIT
UP
Over the course of a full season Logan O’Hoppe would be on pace for 30+ HRs.
Kinda awesome?
Is that allowed from a plus defender behind the plate? I like that trade more and more.
We’re out of it so this win doesn’t mean shit for us but I love seeing the Mariners lose especially after they swept us in early August. FUCK the Mariners!
ROBOT TIME!
Rengifo was such a cancer to this team. They are playing so much better without him. The curse has been broken.
Shut the —- up
Angels Win!
