The Angels are undefeated so far in the pre-season. According to Jon Heyman, they won’t trade Shohei Ohtani at the trade deadline.
It looks like the Padres will extend Manny Machado after all. They had some money left over to sign Daniel Johnson to a minor league deal.
The Braves signed Joe Harvey to a minor league contract. The Twins signed Jeff Hoffman; also to a minor league contract. The Twins claimed Dennis Santana off waivers from the Braves.
The Giants lost Luis Gonzalez and Donovan Walton to injuries, The Reds are losing Justin Dunn to a shoulder injury. Royals prospect Diego Hernandez dislocated his non-throwing shoulder over the weekend.
Tony Clark says the MLBPA will never agree to a salary cap.

RIP Albie

Horrible news. He was my favorite Angel growing up as a kid.
The Original Mighty Angel. Jose Altuve reminds me alot of Albie but only in stature certainly not in Character.
Nothing shows mental toughness like taking to twitter to bitch about how little attention you’re getting. STFU Megan.

There was nothing wrong with 3 hr baseball games.
so far now they are too fast.
if they’re naturally 3 hours, no issue at all.
but if it’s watching sweat drip down kenley jansen’s face then its a hard pass and im glad we got a clock to keep it moving.
Save time, save the planet….Better player hydration with thousands of gallons of spit not going to waste. Cleaner hands with 1/8th the crotch adjustments, less need for hand sanitizer. No time to adjust batting gloves 8 times in between pitches, gloves last all season, less polluting our oceans and killing sea turtles. Less toxic chalk dust being inhaled, no time to wandering aimlessly around the batters box pondering shit.
Love the clock, get on with it, stop wasting time…I have a low attention span after eating too many lead based paint chips as a child.
Funny stuff. 😂
Hey so Randazzo was pretty damn good with Gubi.
I agree. They will only build upon on good foundation of chemistry between the two
wow, 2 positive posts about broadcasters.
CtPG… turning over a new leaf. Good Ju Ju Powah!
They’re both really good together. Wayne’s ability to weave in stories while calling a seamless play by play was a reminder of what was sorely lacking last year.
Luckily we get to have patty O and matty V pop in randomly to ruin a good thing.
Ah good. I was afraid we’d just enjoy an improvement.
o’neal did create the most special on-air moment in angels broadcasting history… gifting john lackey the game 7 rosin bag and john was like i guess ill give this to my kid to play with lmfaooo
Is he full time, or are the Angels a side hustle?
Per The Athletic, O’Hoppe has been catching Ohtani on a regular basis and will catch for him Tuesday. That would form an all OH battery. OH MY!

Sandy on the bump today and neither team is televising it.
Rude.
My day is ruined
I really have not been posting very much of late, shoveling 5 feet of snow off one driveway and 3 walkways pretty much from 2 hours to 71/2 hours a day has a way of telling you your age or that you are out of shape. Currently 11 degrees up here. Found a map of Florida, put it on the dart board and all 6 darts we threw hit Southern Florida.
Good news came in on Saturday, I’m going to be a Grandpa again, due to arrive September 4th. 😀
The team is healthy and winning and yesterday’s box score was just wonderful to peruse through. After my jumping up early and believing we were headed to the World Series in April, I am hesitant to get overly excited.
Our pitching looking sharper to start off Spring Training this season than last.
The CHP closed all 3 ways to get up to Big Bear Friday and Saturday, first time that has ever happened that I can recall since 2012. Dam plows bermed me in 4 separate times on Saturday, I don’t normally call people MF’ers, but I know the Plow Drivers heard me clearly.
Stay safe my friends, stay dry as more rain and snow on the way. 🏂
Get yourself a mechanical snow blower instead of shoveling. It’s good for the soul, and the back.

Just make sure you put the parking brake on before you get out the cab to check on something . Even the Superheroes forget to do this.
I had one of those, but the neighbors complained of the noise and gave me my shovels but still refuse to pay for my back pain meds 😄
I would have spent $15 on a gallon size container of foam ear plugs and handed them to the neighbors.
Plus once you invest in the snowblower, you’ll go years without seeing any snow.
….”healthy and winning”??
You do realize these games don’t count, right?
No way, and I thought we were in first place too.
It counts for my smile.
I was in Cheyenne last week. -33 degrees with the wind chill. Coldest I’ve ever been in my entire life.
“33 degrees is cold?” I thought. Then I saw the minus sign. Yeah, that’s cold!
I don’t understand negative temperatures and I’ve taught math. 🙃
Congrats on GK! Labor on Labor Day, eh?
We got snow in Paso Robles on Friday night.
Not just slushy mix…it was a decent amount.
Last time winter 1988-89…last 50 year storm.
Big Tujunga Canyon at Oro Vista Ave was full.
Water was a couple inches from overflowing.
People on the other side were choppered out.
My GF has family in Crestline. 5 feet there also. Apparently a report of some looting as everybody i trapped still and three more days of bad weather to follow.
Next time mom is coming to stay with us… yay.
Congrats on the incoming kid.
I also will not believe until late may… avoiding buttercup if I can.
Congrats on getting to be a Grandpa again!
I used to live up in Wrightwood. One winter storm I shoveled snow, then the next day shoveled again and the next again. In an “ah ha” moment I thought, “Hey, I love the beach, I have lived there most of my life, what am I doing up here in the freezing cold shoveling snow when I don’t even like snow?” That was the last straw, or last shovel, and I moved off the mountain shortly after that.
And I remember you being super super optimistic at the beginning of last season, I was too. This year I am biding my time, more of a wait and see attitude. But, the pitching did look pretty good yesterday 😀
Stay safe up there, and hire youngsters to shovel for you if there is too much! If you are a Grandpa, then it is probably not worth it health wise to do it all on your own (or so a friend told me 😉
Angels signed free agent RHP Erik Martinez to a minor league contract.
