The Angels offense continued where they left off. Shohei Ohtani promptly tripled to be driven by a single from Anthony Rendon.
In the second, Taylor Ward doubled to drive in Brandon Drury and Jake Lamb. Mike Trout doubled to left to drive in Ward. 4-0 Angels. Reid Detmers pitched two innings of shutout baseball.
In the third both Rendon and Renfroe hit solo homers. 6-0 Angels. Brandon Drury walked and Jake Lamb singled. Kyren Paris came in to pinch run for Drury. After two strikeouts, Aaron Whitefield came in to pinch hit for Taylor Ward. He singled to score Kyren Paris. 7-0 Angels. Mike Trout walked and was replaced by pinch runner Luis Barrera.
Mason Erla pitched a scoreless inning and was replaced by Jose Quijada for the fourth. Lots of minor leaguers began subbing in at this point. Quijada pitched a scoreless inning. Jordyn Adams doubled on the first pitch he saw. Kyren Paris walked. Taylor Jones lined out. Edgar Quero grounded out.
Andrew Wantz pitched the fifth inning and gave up no runs. Great game so far! Nothing really happened for a couple of innings. Ben Joyce got three White Sox out in a row in the seventh inning.
Sam Bachman pitched the eighth inning and struck out the side. Trey Cabbage walked and Livan Soto got a base hit. There was no scoring, unfortunately.
Coleman Crow pitched the ninth inning and retired the side in order. Angels won 7-0!
