The Philadelphia Phillies eliminated the San Diego Padres to advance to the World Series thanks to a Bryce Harper blast. Aaron Judge came up with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and grounded out to end the American League game. Bye bye Yankees.
The Rangers hired Bruce Bochy as their new Manager. The Royals interviewed Rays Bench Coach Matt Quatraro about their managerial vacancy. Both the Royals and Marlins interviewed Phillies third base coach Dusty Wathan for managerial posts. Joe Espada, Skip Schumaker, and Matt Quatraro are said to be the finalists for the Marlins job. The Marlins also interviewed Astros executive Oz Ocampo for Assistant GM.
Here is a compilation of tweets razzing the Yankees for your entertainment.

Wow, the Yankees have made it to the playoffs every season except 4 this century, and they’ve only won 1 championship. What a choke team.
Viewpoint B:
Wow, the Yankees have made it to the playoffs every season except 4 this century. What a model of fielding a competitive team consistently.
It is amazing how easy it is to spin things.
Kind of like in the debates I’ve seen about the MVP race too.
What they do AS A BASEBALL TEAM is amazing.
But their fan base melts down and crawls into fetal position if they ZOMG DONT WIN THE FUGGGIN WORLD.SERIES.
Both my Yankee fan buddies went off the radar after game 2.
This is why we are all here celebrating. Don’t poop on our awesome parade
I’d rather have us being perennial contenders with a choke label than perennial losers that never make the playoffs.
Playoff loses are heart breaking, but constant sucking, uhm, well… sucks.
I chose neither.

Nobody since him in 2012………..Matt Thaiss, Jordyn Adams, Willy Wilson, Jo Adell, Sam Bachman isn’t looking very good either. But hey, we can always root for other teams/players/baseball executives to fail while Art*ro has his MB detailed again..
BOOYAH!!!
Nobody like him…. anywhere in baseball. So do us all a favor, get out a note book and write down the name of every player that has failed to be Mike Trout in the history of baseball. Please don’t come back again, or eat, or drink til you’re dead. I mean done.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You lot must go way back around here because I honestly can’t tell if some of these conversations are good ol’ ball bustin’ amongst pals or if this is an Eastern Front battle circa 1944 level of vitriol.
When it comes to Mr. 2002, think Stalingrad in 1942.
Or Pee Wee Herman in tights
Or Pee Wee Herman in a dark theater
Ahhh, got it.
This wasn’t a post-mortem article about the Yanks, but it very well could be. Oddly enough, some parts remind me about the way the Halos have been run the last decade or so. Except of course, that the Yankees at least make the playoffs.

What ever actually happened to Gary Sanchez?
Traded along with Urshela to the Twins for IKF and Donaldson.
Clint Frazier, whom some pundits were calling “Trout-lite” back then, has now reinvented himself to be Jackson Frazier.
Kind of like Brandon Marsh who that evil trader Dave Dombrowski acquired for his fielding (sure wasn’t for his hitting, otherwise he’d still be here…….Que No?). Marsh is under powered even though he’s a tall rangy 6ft 4in athlete like the next Chris Taylor, but alas he became YET ANOTHER ANGEL’S UTILITY ROLE GUY…….
Well, if you listened to enough MSM broadcasters on Sundau Naught BaseYank when he was a Bomber you’d know he is just earth shatteringly incredibly powerful. Like six atom bombs or four Schwarbers.
Obviously he was just TOO powerful so they had to bury him in a lead lined box in a trench under a large rock under the Mississippi River. For public safety.
The good of mankind takes precedence over titles
Well, not really. F’ mankind.
Yeah, Sanchez has flamed out so badly, I’ve forgotten that he ever existed.
I’ll never forget this arrogant sales
guy I used to know that was convinced in 2017-2018 that Sanchez would have a better career than Trout.
This is pre-frequent injury Trout mind you.
I think it’s pretty obvious that the Yankees owners are cheap and don’t really care about winning.
At this point, with the Stanton-ian and Cole-ostmy on long term, very non-team friendly deals, succumbing to fans pressure to re-sign Judge would be a mistake. Yankess need to sweep out the barn for a semi-rebuild. Fire Boone is step 1. Hicks, Rizzo, Donaldson and the LF need to go.
Wow, if your view is semi-rebuild for the Yanks, and they just made it to the ALCS, then what do the Angels need?
DFA entire team, and nuke the big A from orbit…
Aliens?
Serious, name one starter outside of Judge who cracks the Angels lineup…
Judge to the Doyers is already heating up.
Not sure I’d back up the GDP of Italy to sign Judge. Smacks of career year and big regression. Particularly if he changes leagues.
Gleyber Torres was acquired in the Aroldis Chapman deal from the Cubs in 2016.
Who.
Gives.
A.
Shit?
Play off system so unfair! Needs best of eleven!
I know. Nawt Fayerrrr! So bad for baseball! Must be done!
This guy agrees…
I wonder who is going to be the $300 million plus loser of the Judge sweepstakes. With the team up for sale, it thankfully won’t be us.
I’m not sure NYY can allow themselves to regress, so they’ll probably pony up the dough.
Dodgers could also be desperate enough
I think you’re both probably right. Judge has a ton of caveat emptor qualities and will likely be a mistake for the team that ponies up.
Bu bu butt greatest offensive season evahhh!
Plus Chad Curtis with the Yankees back in 1996 and Melky Cabrera in those early 2010’s Giants teams……….YOU DON’T ALWAYS NEED A RAVISHING GOOD LOOKING OUTFIELDER TO WIN A WORLD SERIES, QUE NO? Or we can just keep on flailing at failed high draft picks that become utility role guys and then trade them to another team who actually wants to win (2021 Braves and 2022 Phillies) while our feckless chubby GM and indifferent owner does nothing. Hail 20 janitor drafts!!!!
💪 💪 💪 💪
But you need a child molester and a Roider?
Thank God your not the GM
Ah yes. PTP. Still a better over all person than you in every imaginable way and it just throws sand in your cooch every morning.
Mets are the leader in the clubhose. Followed by the Yanks then the Dongers.
Got to be Mets. at the very least they’ll drive the price up like they did with Bauer.

What an awesome thought! They have become a sub-Buffalo Bills. I also look back with pleasure they were our roadkill on the way to our 2002 World Series win.
2009, not 2008. And even then, they needed the umps to help them.
https://www.halosheaven.com/2009/10/22/1096316/conspiracy-theory
a video clip of the play:
https://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2009/10/20/mlbtv_nyaana_7078739_1m.mp4
cut/copy & paste into a new browser. CtPG no likey video links.
And roadkill in 2005. If you carve out 2009, they are very Buffalo Billish going back to 2001. I show:
2001 Lost World Series
2002 Lost ALDS
2003 Lost World Series
2004 Lost ALCS
2005 Lost ALDS
2006 Lost ALDS
2007 Lost ALDS
2009 Won World Series (After Fuentes grooved AFraud w/2 strikes in the ALCS)
2010 Lost ALCS
2011 Lost ALDS
2012 Lost ALCS
2015 Lost AL WC game
2017 Lost ALCS
2018 Lost ALDS
2019 Lost ALCS
2020 Lost ALDS
2021 Lost AL WC Game
2022 Lost ALCS
Golly, it sure would be nice if our team had made it to the playoffs that many times since 2001!
Seems like a lot of strutting going on around here since the Yanks lost….
Looking for SOMETHING to make us happy. Silver linings and all
Like your stupid predictions?
😆 😆 😂 😜 😀
Thats true . I had predicted that you would at one point produce a cogent intelligible post . But alas, it is not meant to be and will probably never materialize as you ascend into total darkness.
Lovely
Angel’s 7 year itch
2016 74-88 2017 80-82 2018 80-82 2019 72-902020 26-34 2021 77-85 2022 74-88…….. 💩 💩 💩 😠 Worse than Pittsburgh, KC, Cincy, Miami
Oh wait… is this more of your “I’m the Joker” edging?
Since 2009, the Yankees have made five American League Championship Series and have lost them all. New York is the first team to lose five straight ALCS appearances, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Boone is toast.
I think he’s reached Dave Roberts status.
A puppet who can’t be blamed for terrible decisions?
I’m not convinced Friedman told Roberts to make a pitching change mid-count
Unfortunately Roberts listening device had malfunctioned so he didnt get Friedman’s message until after the first pitch of the at bat.
LOL…it’s possible. This whole phone call from upstairs thing is pretty degrading even if it is for a nice sum of money. I can agree with Maddon on that point.
*schtick
Thanks I’ll fix it
🤣
I can too but what if your gut feel abilities suck? ( Try not to suck Joe) . As well as Maddon’s shtick has worked in his managerial career his bullpen usage “gut feel” really hasn’t.
From what I can tell, Bochy has a better ability to manage and utilize his pen than Maddon or Scioscia ever did for that matter.
Oh yeah, agree. I’m probably the last guy around here to annoint Maddon as capable. I think the amount of times that Perry was pulling Joe’s strings was limited. But Joe reacted the same way I would.
Xsept in 2019 when it didn’t. Also lost in 2018 and lost 98 games in 2017
BTW Ned Yost won the 2015 World Series in KC and had two 100 loss seasons
The ONLY positive in having two teams that I loathe represent in the ALCS is that one of them now has crushed the hopes and dreams of their entitled fan base. Pitchforks out and popcorn for me.
Exactly my thought.
Oh yes. Go over to Pinstripe Alley and take a look. One guy says the entire playoff system disincentivizes the Steinbrenner family from spending money to get the best players. He says the playoffs system is broken.
Except Houston has the best players, so there’s that.
I watched everything but the last inning of that 18 inning game versus Seattle. I was amazed by how many quality arms came out of the Houston bullpen. It seemed that they all threw 98 and had two something ERAs. I don’t like it but I also don’t don’t see how they can miss.
The disheartening thing for we Angels fans is that Seattle was able to match Houston’s bull pen arms pretty much pitch for pitch. We have our work cut out for us in trying to climb past those two clubs to resume our rightful place on top of the division.
I wish we went after those kind of arms rather than what Minasian overpaid for.
You love to see it.
I’m happy for Captain Caveman and Thor. As Halo Fans know getting to the World Series is difficult – 21 years and counting.
MFY lost. It was another good season.
Now that the MFY are gone the only team I’m going against is the ASStros.
Does anybody ever read Halo Hangout? I find they’re generally just restating the obvious.
Last year I think they were kind of copying from us about the Perry Minasian articles.
Please remind me what was said about Minasian that was copied.
I just mean they started making articles about what Minasian should do in the off season. I don’t know what they said because I didn’t read any of them.
Thanks. Obviously, I didn’t either.
I’m a CtPG Honk for life!!
It’s my “go to” first thing every morning.
I imagine all the “JUDGE FOR MVP” Homers will stop their assault on Shohei. Mind you – Judge still deserves MVP you just won’t hear any Bronx Babies whining about it anymore.
Phillies have the “IT” factor just like we did in 2002.
They are clearly not the best team but will win it all.
Marsh certainly does look like Cousin It….
Wow, when Marsh uses mouse in his beard and blow dries it, it really has a nice sheen, according to your photo.
First wash it, remove bacon grease (only assuming).
Then mouse and the blow dry.
Wait! What? Marsh has rats in his hair????
Vermin Wells approves of this message.
He’s too blessed to be stressed.
Uh Excuse me. The Angels were the best team in 2002
Hardly…they just won it all.
We were a WILD CARD in 2002. By definition we weren’t the “Best team” in 2002.
Indeed, all three of our playoff opponents in 2002 were better teans on paper.
You can shred all that paper in October…that’s what made it so special for us.
That barely beat another wildcard team in seven games.
And we chose a TERRIBLE year to win it…
What with them yuppies in the BMW model 2002’s and that turrible user at HH called 2002Heaven. Should erase it from our mammaries.
We won the whole F’g thing. By definition we were the best team in 2002.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-hDl6OALv4
Everyone else is forgetting the required descriptor “ON PAPER “
And thats why they make trophies for T Ball.
You are the voice of reason DD
Nah. The reason people have trouble with that concept is because it’s wrong. We weren’t the best team in baseball that year. We were something even better. The “not best team” that beat several better teams in a post season series and won the title. It’s why division winners get little flags and it’s not now called the WAR Series of Baseball. Championships are hard to win because you have to stay super locked on whether you had 90 wins or 111 during the regular season.
The Doyers and Spankees were better teams (just, you know, don’t actually look up the Astros record) and they got a reward, cute little flags they can fly at their stadia.
But.. that’s good for gritty “We fly flags” dick swinging, isn’t it?
Mariners fly some awesome flags …
