As everyone celebrates Arte Moreno willing to sell the team, the players have to play baseball, unable to truly rejoice with the fans. They would have to show their worth to their new potential owner(s).
On the mound to show his worth was Jose Saurez, one of the standouts of late. He went 5 and a third innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, striking out 5 and walking none. Not the best, especially with this offense.
However, it was the bullpen that really blew it, giving up 8 runs. Why is Chavez still here again?
Hitting wise, Mike Trout showed up. No one else did. Typical Angels.
“Highlighted” Recap
It was rather close, at first. But a misplay by Rojas at third meant a leadoff double that came around tios score in the 3rd.
And then another scored due to lousy singles.
At least Mike Trout was back, hitting his 1,500th hit as a home run!
However, Suarez gave ot right back in the 6th.
Chavez came in to end the inning, but allowed a home run in the 7th.
And then it got worse, with him allowing yet another run.
With how bad he is here, but great with Atlanta, something smells fishy here.
Touki Toussaint came in and it kept getting worse. 2 more runs scored.
And so many of these are just soft singles.
I would be more mad if this game mattered at all.
Oh right, they still, had to pitch the bottom of the 8th.
Yes, not even Quijada was any good today.
After the Angels failed to pitch again, they put Phil Gosselin.
Yes, they put in the Goose. He was pretty loose, not allowing any more damage.
But, the Angels lost. Mercifully. 11-1, that is bad. But at least Arte will sell, that is good.
27 comments here (now 28 with this one) and 560-zillion in the Arte to sell? thread
Still a big ol’ W of a day for the Angels.
Nothing like our bull pen, after a Trout HR, says to the team, “Nope…watch this” and the game gets out of hand.
Clippers owner rumored to be interested in Angels. That would be great!
Apparently not:
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is not believed to be interested.

Sorry – I meant Golden State Warrior owner.

Also fine by me
Me too!
Man, that Tungsten Arm O’Doyle thing resonates. Here’s actual copy…
“Angels superstar Mike Trout picked up career hit No. 1,500 in an 11-1 loss to the Rays on Tuesday night. It came in memorable fashion, as he absolutely crushed a solo homer off the C-ring catwalk at Tropicana Field.”
And….the speculation of who may be the next owner starts!
Stan Kroenke ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mark Cuban 🙅
Steve Ballmer 🙅
Henry & Susan Samueli 🙅
It looks like the winner could be……. JOE LACOB
Money quotes from the article:
“Can’t answer this question that fast,” Lacob told The Times on Tuesday. “We look at good opportunities.”
He added a smile emoji.
“I became an Angels fan and worked at Anaheim Stadium for seven years as a peanut vendor,” he told the San Francisco Chronicle in a story published last month.
Lacob also told the Chronicle he looked into the Angels when the Walt Disney Co. put the team up for sale in 2002

Should be some fun few months ahead, except for the baseball games itself.
Quote the potential buyers for those that don’t pay for LAT por favor
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who has looked into buying the Dodgers and other major league teams, told The Times he is not interested in pursuing the Angels.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is not believed to be interested.
Anaheim Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli, the owners of Orange County’s other major team, are not believed to be interested in the Angels. A spokesperson for the Samuelis did not immediately return a message Tuesday.
Lacob could be outbid by the Rams’ Stan Kroenke, who was a runner-up in the Dodgers’ bidding in 2012 and who could emulate his development around Sofi Stadium in the Angel Stadium parking lot. A representative for Kroenke declined comment.
The doomed stadium site won’t attract Kroenke, but he could build another stadium?
If Joe Lacob could run a baseball team anywhere near as good as he runs the Golden State Warriors, sign me up.
Kroenke, Ballmer, or Lacob all sound like great fits.
Lacob works for me. Seems unassuming and willing to let his Bob Myers run the show. I’d get worn out by the Ballmers and Cubans of the world.
I don’t mind Kroenke either. Look at that very long leash he had on Les Snead. It all paid off with a Super Bowl last season.
CTPG is gonna be buzzin with content and traffic as the new era of Angels Baseball comes to fruition. New owner, front office, manager….let’s go!
Still a net win today
Fuck’n-A. Great day, saw a .153 hitter pinch hit for a .118 hitter, saw a position player put up zeros when no other arm could, team sinks further towards the bottom and that other little tidbit of news about some guy putting the team up for sale.
Arte in a sales meeting:
“Have you seen the new water feature I paid for??” 🤣🤣
Was there a game tonight?
Actually feel sorry for PO and Gubi trying to keep the listeners engaged.
ZONK!!!!!
He sell yet?
I’m going to watch “Engineering Disasters”. I wonder if they will have an episode of The Angels organizational structure?
Wasn’t there a “Stadium Disaster” segment on tonight? Wonder if…
😂😂😂
Yes, there was, all about a roof, retractable roof, with no flexural values. It failed!
Montreal Expos…..and the Angels.
Just another brick in the wall…..
