What is beautiful with Vinny is that we all got to celebrate him while he was still living. Tributes will follow but ultimately, he knew he was loved by so many.
A few years ago (pre pandemic) went to the Hollywood bowl to see the Phil, and they did Copeland’s Lincoln Portrait. Vin did the spoken word parts. Three standing ovations for Vin. The orchestra and conductor joined in the ovation. Pretty much consummate LA experience.
I could replace “over-slide second base” with “strike out,” “take strike 3 called,” “swing at the first pitch” “place players on the ‘day to day’ only to have them out for the season.”
