White Sox 11 Angels 4
The fun for the Angels tonight took place early and often, as the affable Andrew Velazquez (Squid), powerful Mike Trout, and photogenic Shohei Ohtani all decided they’d had enough of Johnny Cueto.
That’s not all Ohtani did on the night: he also schmacked two doubles! Ohtani, slated to pitch tomorrow, seems to do one amazing thing after another.
Unfortunately, that’s where the fun ended for the Angels, as the White Sox hammered Halos pitching for ten straight runs. Mike Trout took some more upper-90s chin music (thanks a lot, Joe Kelly) and Brandon Marsh got injured with a knee contusion attempting to chase a sinking liner west of the foul line. Through seven innings, the Angels surrendered 17 hits and recorded 21 outs — that’s a recipe for a WHIPping. During the game, Chelsea Tepera, wife of Angels’ reliever Ryan Tepera, had some choice words for beat writer Jeff Fletcher.
