After Further Review, the Ruling on the Field is Confirmed: Angels Win 10-4

The Angels went up the 5 to Dodger Stadium for game 2 of this brief Freeway Series before the season actually starts.

Jose Suarez was on the mound tonight. He went 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits while striking out 2 and walking 2. It all fell apart in the 3rd inning. And then he got put back in there for another inning because of Spring Training rules being fake. He gave up another hit. Final, FINAL line being 3 and 2/3 innings pitched, 4 runs and 5 hits allowed.

Brandon Marsh and Jose Rojas hit home runs. Meanwhile, Jo Adell needs to work on his defense, although his offense is looking solid. Michael Stefanic also had multiple hits, looking to force Maddon to put him on the opening day roster.

It was also a historic game, as the umpires finally explained their reviews to the crowd.

Finally!

Scoring Recap

The Dodgers drew first blood, in large part thanks to Jo Adell’s horrendous defense. Jo Adell completely misplayed a ball hit to him, allowing Freddie Freeman to hit a triple and score on a sac fly. It was 1-0 Dodgers after 1.

What the?!

Not to worry though, as Brandon Marsh made up for it, tying the game up in the 3rd with a solo home run.

Home Run Brandon Marsh!

More were added on, with Ohtani walking, Matt Duffy hitting a single, and Rendon singled to make it 2-1.

Rendon gets it done!

Taylor Ward Blake-ed it, doubling in another run.

Blake!

A bloop hit by Adell brought in another run, and now at 4-1 Angels, the Dodgers Starter, Urias was pulled, unable to get an out in the 3rd.

There we go!

Jack Mayfield hit the 5th straight single off of the new pitcher, scoring the 4th run of the inning. 5-1 Angels!

It was a lead that did not last, as Jose Suarez was hot around in the bottom of the 3rd, allowing 3 more runs, but at least he got 2 outs. 5-4 Angels.

The Angels scored another run in the 5th, with Stefanic driving in Jo Adell to increase the lead to 6-4 Angels!

He is making things difficult for Maddon

After surviving a scare with a bases loaded jam, the Angels scored even more in the 6th, with a 2 run blast from Rojas, scoring Marsh. 8-4 Angels!

Why can’t I hold all these Outfielders?!

Rojas continued to make his case for the opening day roster with another hit and another RBI. 9-4 Angels.

Taylor Ward got another hit, driving in the 10th run of the game for the Angels!

The Angels win 10-4, blowing out the Dodgers.

Good on Rojas!

Question for the admins… will we be allowed to bring back Angela to help celebrate wins?

I thought she was for “rallies” not celebration?

Wasn’t her unofficial name the “Rally Skank?”

Yeah, but she also celebrated wins.

And she’s not a skank, she’s a good girl who’s just friendly!

I like Rojas’s bat in the line up against right handers. Do we know if he is okay defensively at second base. FYI, he was playing shortstop when I first saw him play in Rookie ball for Orem against Idaho Falls.

I’m happy and scared at the same time. My mind knows it’s only spring training but it does say something about the Angel’s depth. My heart is saying “WORLD SERIES HERE WE COME!!!!”

I was there and regret not wearing red, the crowd was mellow and most left after the seventh.

Even Hot Pocket didn’t take any routes as bad as Adell’s on Freeman’s “triple.” I wonder what happened. Looked…as JHW put it, “horrendous.”

Yea, man. I want the OF the jell and I can’t foretell, but Adell runs like a gazelle pell-mell into a play that smells; I can’t quell the unwell “what the hell?” death knell of Adell as personnel in…left field.

Did he take his eye off the ball, and not see it slice to the left? (It is all I’ve got)

That’s what I was thinking. Maybe the liner got lost in a Dodger fan’s white shirt.

I thought he might have lost the ball in the lights.

Left field is where he hasn’t yet given up one of his patented glove assisted homers. Maybe a triple was the best he could manage in the heat of the moment.

But does it count if it happens during spring training?

Is it just a coincidence that he makes such a bad play just after Upton is released?

Tryna fight off paranoid idea we’re shooting our wad in meaningless games and when the games count, we’re…ya know.

I guess that’s what the last handful of years has done to me as an Angels fan. I’m damaged.

I’m sure they’ll be fine.

I must say, I am very impressed with MLB’s Top Power Team letting us win these last two days.

Had these last two games actually counted I might agree with you. But, since they didn’t it is pretty petty to argue against them based on that fact. Or argue for ourselves for that matter…

Bobby V in the house doing the post game with Frenchy. I wonder if that has something to do with his long time friendship with PTP’s dad?

It is amazing the amount of joy that gif brings me. The unbridled celebration for his (our) team winning while his two friends just stand there dejected. Pure awesomeness!
