Win one in LA
Then back to Atlanta
To blow the Dodgers away

F it. Win 2 at the latrine and STFU all of the Doyer fans.

I was at the deciding game at the Latrine back in 2019 when Howie hit a grand slam and the Nats came back to eliminate Doyer nation. It was the quietest sold out stadium I’ve ever seen. So priceless.

That game made me so happy !!!

Especially since it was Howie with the big blow!

Don’t forget; Braves we’re up 3 games to 1 last year and the Doyers came back.

This series is just getting started.

That said, it is a lot better to be up 2-0 than be down 2-0.

No way Atlanta coughs up a 3-1 lead this year. Not in front of those fans

That is a good point. Last year all the games were in Texas.

But it might not be 3-1. I am expecting the fugly Doyers to win the next two.

Also curious what impact having Charlie Morton will have on the Braves this year.

I hear you. But these were two hard fought wins – and beating Scherzer was big. Dodgers are an incredible team and you can never count them out. But being up 2-0 when the Dodgers came in with all that momentum is huge.

Braves just need to win 1 in LA. Tough to do but would be great!

Hate to say it but I’m expecting it to be 2-2 in a few days.

As long as the Braves are up 3-2 in the series the next day, I’m fine with that.

Let’s go Braves! Anybody else feel there is a parity problem brewing and will be a discussion point come the next CBA? Very curious what comes of that.

What do you mean by parity problem?

Not when the likes of Oakland & Tampa Bay can win consistently in this game.

The only parity problem is teams like the Nationals giving a team like the Dodgers Scherzer and Turner.

Honestly think there should be some power reserved by the commissioners office to block trades like that. Like in the NBA.

They did that to Charlie Finley; Joe Rudi, Vida Blue and one other dude. But in the era of free agency, anything goes.

The Skanks. Ironically If Charlie O had taken a couple prospects back and not necessarily so much cash I doubt Bowie Kuhn would have ever nixed the trade.

you know, we’re so hard on Albert but I’ve been thinking, going all the way back. First of all, it felt like he resented sharing billing with Trout. And then his first month and a half was not at all what anyone expected, hitting .190 on May 8th and .213 on May 23rd before he picked it up. We were tough on him because he was doing so poorly and I think he resented that, too.

I don’t think he ever felt the same way about being an Angel as he did about being a Cardinal and we could tell. He was the anti-Trout, the anti-Shohei.

Yes, always felt like he was all about the money. He said if he couldn’t perform he’d quit. But that money was so enticing….

And Arte can never resist handing out too much money to aging vets. So we get to watch other teams in the playoffs. And Arte is paying the guy to play on one of them.

I have no reason to dislike Scherzer other than that he pitches for 1 of the 3 teams I dislike that are still competing. But I wouldn’t object to him totally losing effectiveness right now

Just saw on MLB Trade Rumors that MLB will require teams to provide housing for minor leaguers next year. Shouldn’t have to live in your car to play baseball for a living.

Reply to  Jim Atkins

Remember, this issue was made much worse by the Minor League Baseball’s COVID-19 protocols and disallowing the Host Family option. Seems like MILB did not offer up any options for the players in place of the host family option. Some players still would choose to live in a hotel or rental during the season but younger players often prefer host families.

So since this is all Arte’s fault is he now responsible to pay for every clubs’ Minor League Housing bill?

Arte, dunno. Just pointing out the lack of a viable option due to Covid-19. I dont know if this opened back up or not yet. Regional “minor league” teams would solicit families in the local area to become a host, there are some perks involved but the basic rules put forth by the minor league team. It was a safe, cost affordable option.
