So, is this a “we’re injured” thing, or is this a “we suck” thing?
I’m going with “we suck”. Other teams have injuries and manage to play decent ball. I blame Arte, of course. Perry did a terrible job in the off season and I have to think it’s because, once again, Arte didn’t provide resources. I have no inside info but based on the track record over the years that seems most likely. Sad to say, I’m gaining respect for DiPoto for walking away.
also Albert’s contract….and Upton’s. I see Seattle’s payroll is $78mil, Oakland’s is $86mil. Maybe we need scouts.

Honestly I think part of it is not only Pujols sucking himself but everyone on the team knowing he sucks and the Angels not giving a damn about it and then it probably feels like they are just “playing” baseball instead of actually trying to win. I know the rest of the team are professionals, but I’ve also been in professional environments where it is impossible to get everyone on the same page going in the same direction when everyone knows the elephant in the room that management won’t address.
Must be hard to get the ship going in the right direction when Maddon is having to tell the team to do it when they haven’t brought anchors up yet. I’ve always had the feeling that the Angels can’t truly move forward until Pujols is off the team. Mostly I thought that for payroll reasons, but now it’s more than just that.
