Watched the highlights last night. Joe Morgan going on and on about how Yankee fans are the greatest and Angel fans are terrible got annoying really fast.
Yes, this was a pretty amazing playoff run. Its the 1st time I have been able to see the reruns of the Yankees and then Twins games – going to be nice. I got the World Series games on a DVD for a Christmas present a few years ago. But these two first series I remember were pretty amazing. We we underdogs the whole way through.
Just realized I don’t think I’ve ever seen this game before. I didn’t have ESPN in 2002 (I was that broke) so almost certainly listened on the radio on my patio, where I could nervously smoke.
We were out of town, chaperoning kids to a cross country meet. We never saw this game, but. We had a blast listening to game four in the way home, but that’s tomorrow’s story!
I didn’t realize this was a Friday. I was teaching my high school Alma mater’s drum line and there was a home football game. I watched a few innings at a restaurant then missed the end.
I remember going to this game. Drove down from Bakersfield with my wife and couple friends. Arrived in bottom 2nd – terrible traffic, it was Friday. Angels down 6-1 by time we got to our seats. Needless to say, it was one exciting game and the Angels were on their way.
Ahhh, memories. Some of the best were giving it back to the announcers who seemed so shocked that their beloved Yankees might lose. Stand by guys, it’s coming at ya again!

Here we go!
Weaver walks 2 in a row and Sosh sax bunts. I probably thought that was smart in 2002.
Now I see why we only scored 1 run and still trailed instead of having a potentially big inning
I do like that Eckstein bunt a little. Only need one run…
Yes. Different circumstances.
rallyyyyy

Missed all the bad parts, then!
Ha, yes I did! The game got better and better and the crowd louder and louder and those damn thunder sticks were blasting the stadium.
GA just GA’d it

Did you see Jeets make that play???
That’s it, that play, and the Yankees kicking Angel butt, I am Now a Yankee fan. They will win it all this season breh.
yesterday was so beautiful, he made the amazing jump throw, who cares that it sailed over the base and into the dugout?
Yummmmmmm. Joe Morgan
LETS GO HALOS!!!
Feel like in present-day times, that hook would’ve come a lot sooner. Ortiz is very lucky to only be down 3 right now.
Crafty Veteran Status
Somehow Laz Diaz and Joe West got playoff assignments 18 years ago…
That’s Hall of Famer Mike Mussina to you!
I have a good feeling about this
it is weird knowing we win all these
yeah it’s kinda spooky
alright ramon, settle down **
Scioscia face…I miss it.
Talking about bunting against the shift in 2002? 😂 In this essay I will —
Better announcers today!
