First, I have TV watched 6-7 Salt Lake games this year. Fewer Panda’s. Second, they are young and they are prospects. From what I have watched, there is no help coming next season. Maybe in 2, probably 3 years. Many will never make it. All is my opinion on a short window.
The exception for next year is Rada. No because he is great, but his path is almost clear. And he appears to be a strong defensive upgrade. And a better arm.

They did trade Ragsdale and Frias for Dustin May and Romero at the deadline. They made some moves – they just got shit for not outbidding the Dodgers for Skubal.
But their draft-and-develop (and retain talent) strategy has kept them very competitive for a while here, so it’s hard to criticize. It’s working for them.

Well, they have the best record in baseball, are 8-2 in their last ten games, and their team ERA is tops in the NL.
A touch more fallible since the deadine, but their starting pitching is still top three in the NL in xERA and xFIP. Fundamentally strong pitching. And given their offense is also top three in the NL over the same span, it’s an awfully balanced team.

I mean, even now, there’s no guarantee he’s going to be a sustained hitter in MLB. Even after this season, Fangraphs doesn’t consider him a top 10 Brewers prospect. He struck out 33% of the time this year, with a 64% contract rate (MLB is 74-76%). His whiff and in-zone contact rates are among the lowest in the minors.
It’s basically Joey Gallo power with sub-sub-Gallo contact rates.

He basically has one big flaw at the moment – breakers low and away. He can clobber fastballs in the zone.
Having one big flaw at AA at 20 years old isn’t a bad place to start. He could stick in AA all next season and still be ahead of the age curve.
