Right now, this Angel “offense” is abhorrent. I know, “well duh”. The only hitter worth a damn is Adell. The Ks are piling up like last year, no team speed, 29th in runners stranded. Any reinforcements better in the minors?
Just to scare folks a bit; things will not get any easier for us….Next we face a scorching hot Reds team in Cincy. They open with young stud Chase Burns who will shut our bats down. That takes us to a three game losing streak….
If Sori fails to win his start on Sunday we could be looking at a 6 game losing streak or worse, cause the next stop is Yankee fuckin Stadium…
The thing to do is to draft him low like you probably did, THEN after his 2-3 HR’s in the first week, trade him when his value is high… He has a pattern of starting well and tailing off after the first 7-8 days..
I don’t believe he does. They’re slipping right into last year’s pattern, which has actually been the pattern for the last few years. I’m disappointed they didn’t give Torii the job.
I agree that no manager can fix this garbage roster. I just think it would be more interesting. Torii was in the dugout for Jo’s amazing game. Good things seem to happen when he’s around.
I think he needs to rest O’ Hoppe a day or three. As a former catcher he should understand that you can get run into the ground pretty quicky when you play 6 games a week.. One day off is not enough.
It doesn’t make any difference, other to point out the crappy trade the Angels made: Taylor Ward is hitting .383, with nine doubles this season already. He has 18 hits which are 4 more than Trout, Lowe and Moncada have combined. He also has 8 rbi’s.
He should have been treaded, he would have been gone after this year anyway and he wasn’t going to make a difference for this team. He just should have been traded for something of value.
No doubt, but the player received in the trade has spent the majority of the past two years with serious arm problems and is already on the shelf. Could the Angels at least received a healthy player?
Ward getting traded wasnt the issue, what the the team got back in return is the problem. People can need a change of scenery. Sucking for so long in the same place is tough for anyone. Also, Moniack looks pretty good so far.
Gotta believe Candalrio’s days are numbered
Not even. Not with Moncada as the only veteran option.
With more playing time Candelario will hit..
The other thing is that the Braves have the best pitching staff in the majors… so there is that.

Might as well give CMo a try. Peraza has been stinking it up. Can’t be worse than him…
Unfortunately, no is hitting in AAA either.
Suarez is amazing! 😂
Trade Adell for him!
Do we just always blow ass right after a fight? Man. What a bunch of tools.
Lol
The Angels and Mike Trout especially sure fooled me. They came out of the gate hot and have fizzled ever since.
Shame on me for getting my hopes up.
Hard to buttercup if you don’t get built up in the first place.
Today Neto served us some dry and stale LOBster with a warm side of Buttercup.
When I’m not soaking with hopium you knows it’s bad lol
The Angels began last season like this .500 or so, through 18 games, actually 9-9. Then the wheels fell off. Perhaps this when the wheels fall off?
Angels Hall of Famer Jose Suarez!

The scorching hot teams are the only ones the Angels beat up on.
Really ?
The Yankees had won 6 out of 7 games last year when they came to Anaheim…
Guess what? They swept us in that three game series !
How about the Dodgers? We swept them.
This is probably the last time this team will be at .500. 3 games at Cincy and 4 games at the Bronx. Tough road trip coming up.
No Soler on the trip. It’s gonna get nasty
Yep. See my comment above. 7-8 game losing streak is incoming.
Thank goodness the NBA playoffs start next week to distract from the tailspin that will occur on the upcoming road trip
One thing about Trout; when he starts slumping his plate discipline goes out the window.
I mean, this last AB was a walk with a “normal” Mike Trout.
Trout sucks so bad right now. I’m about to drop him in my fantasy league where I drafted him late as a sleeper.
The thing to do is to draft him low like you probably did, THEN after his 2-3 HR’s in the first week, trade him when his value is high… He has a pattern of starting well and tailing off after the first 7-8 days..
Someone offered me Matt Chapman. It was a fair trade. Shows how far he’s fallen.
Going out on a limb here, but, they might lose this ballgame….
We’re wasting Jo’s prime. But seriously, it’s Jo’s team now
I think it’s him and Neto.
and Soriano
Jo only has 1 year left after this.
You’re a risk taker!
Some of these games aren’t even out of reach and letting your bp pitcher throw so many pitches until they make it worse makes zero sense to me.
Contrarily, wasting Bachman down 6. I’m starting to think Suzuki has no clue what he’s doing
I don’t believe he does. They’re slipping right into last year’s pattern, which has actually been the pattern for the last few years. I’m disappointed they didn’t give Torii the job.
what is anyone going to do with this junk roster.
Throw some fire under their butts. Give them someone to look up to and respect.
Maybe, but there just isn’t much talent.
Torii isn’t qualified whatsoever
How is Suzuki qualified.
Pat Riley was a radio announcer until he got hired and now he’s a Hall of Fame.
Honestly I don’t think Suzuki is either. Working as a special assistant to Perry should be disqualifying haha.
Riley is an exception to the rule. Maybe Torii would be too, idk, simply stating he isn’t qualified due to no managerial experience
I agree that no manager can fix this garbage roster. I just think it would be more interesting. Torii was in the dugout for Jo’s amazing game. Good things seem to happen when he’s around.
That is a bit harsh, I think.
Yeah, I was scratching my head with that one just a bit. In Kurt’s defense though
1) tomorrow is a day off, so he should be okay for Friday
2) he did need the work to stay fresh
Him and perry are gone after this year. Maybe the new president can hire a better gm
If the Angels had some speed burners in the line up, it could conjur up some offense. But that’s not the case.
At least everyone managed to hit the ball that inning.
Thats progress, sort of.
I’m glad Suzuki believes in rolling out the same lineup. It’s clearly working
This lineup would never get 1 hit. Oh wait it happened last week lol
Team batting average now is .199
Los Angeles Mendoza Lines.
Los Angeles Mendoza line of Anaheim.
I think he needs to rest O’ Hoppe a day or three. As a former catcher he should understand that you can get run into the ground pretty quicky when you play 6 games a week.. One day off is not enough.
It’s only the 2nd week of season.
Yes, but he was also playing in Spring Training games so we are talking about a month and a half of games..
It doesn’t make any difference, other to point out the crappy trade the Angels made: Taylor Ward is hitting .383, with nine doubles this season already. He has 18 hits which are 4 more than Trout, Lowe and Moncada have combined. He also has 8 rbi’s.
Ward outperforming Trout is mad depressing
Ward is outperforming everyone, non pitcher, on the Angels. He is scorching hot.
trout is cooked.
What happened in the course of one week? He looked raw previously.
i mean he’s still mike trout. can put together an impressive string. it just happened early and now its back to the usual.
It keeps happening more and more often. And it lasts longer and longer and the slumps are deeper.
im convinced he was on the sauce until the contract. fell off a cliff.
I don’t buy that conspiracy. Wouldn’t he have been caught ?
I’m not convinced that’s true anymore. Where are these impressive strings you refer to. Anyone can be good for a week.
Except for one reality: most players perform worse in an Angels uniform than they do on any other team.
#indianburialground
It is quite the phenomenon isn’t it.
Yep. Despite this about 80% of the regulars on this site were itching to trade him.
So, there is some revisionist history going on here …
He should have been treaded, he would have been gone after this year anyway and he wasn’t going to make a difference for this team. He just should have been traded for something of value.
We differ there. Look at this division now. It is very winnable. There is no dominant team. The Mariners are 4-9 and in last place for Chrissakes !
It’s only 13 games, I don’t believe it will stay that way. Especially for the Halos.
No doubt, but the player received in the trade has spent the majority of the past two years with serious arm problems and is already on the shelf. Could the Angels at least received a healthy player?
At the time I was not crazy about the trade. Franky, I may have been the only person here who was beating the drum to re-sign or extend Taylor.
Ward getting traded wasnt the issue, what the the team got back in return is the problem. People can need a change of scenery. Sucking for so long in the same place is tough for anyone. Also, Moniack looks pretty good so far.
I said that yesterday. Perry gives up on guys too soon !!
Yes you were, and good point. But it looked like a salary dump, than a legitimate trade.
The zephyr strikes again…..
Sheesh, Zeferjahn!
Back to his true form as was Detmers.
