I watched the Oregon State vs Xavier game last night. I think the final was 17-2. It was hard to keep total attention to it by the end. Xavier pitchers walked 16 and hit 6. The ballboy got a lot of exercise running to home plate to collect elbow pads, shin guards and such.

Going multi-platform distribution with D2C via MLB and broadcast TV over cable is the right decision. Good job Angels

I’m glad they got a TV deal done that doesn’t require me to pay more money. I was going to pirate it or miss more games.

Admittedly I have not been keeping up with this subject matter but what is the benefit of keeping the broadcast name FanDuel when they shuttered their doors? Advert revenue from the parent company? Happy to see the Kings and Erica Weston are part of the package.

Agree with what was stated, better to not be tied to MLB TV.

We are rounding into the “Real Camp” portion of ST.

So, at the top of the AB list we have Christian Moore, who is doing the Christian Moore. Back down to an OPS below .700. I still wish we wouldn’t Adell this kid. He is clearly not setting the MiLB world on fir yet, even though he is also clearly talented. Just send him to SLC for most of a year and let him get comfortable and find his groove guys.

My hero, Vaughn Grissom, is also sucking still. This makes me sad.

But then things get happier. Though Spring Training is meaningless, Adell, Peraza, Candelario, Teodosio, Paris and O”hoppe are all puting in really good work. Bryce continues to feed my dreams of him being MLB useful. I just don’t know how to quit him, but I am glad that the Angels brass seems to be interested in him too.

Candelario? OK. Wade Meckler? Comes alive? He’s starting to look like he might be a solid depth guy.

Adam Frazier’s seeing less playing time, but I suspect it’s because he’s made the team.

Donovan Walton,Yolmer Sanchez, Raudi Rodriguez, Nick Madrigal, Denzer Guzman, Nelson Rada, Sebastian Rivero…. this is a mixed bag of hopium and depth fodder. But what I like is that they are all hitting. Why do I like it? Because it makes me think maybe the coaching is doing a good job.

Nolan Schanuel. Please start getting hits soon.

And quietly. From the dark gasping corner vacuum of whining fan anger, Jorge Soler abides with an OPS over .1000 still. He is svelte. He swings very hard. Maybe he will be useful for us? Maybe he will be useful in trade? Georgie Sunshine.

Is it me or are they throwing Silent C out there like they intend to use him in the rotation? Grod looks fine, just needs better control. Normal ST. Same with Detmers. Had some horrid innings. Now he’s kinda sorta getting it together.

Soriano has been sick. If he has what I had then I understand the 17.00 ERA. He’s probably been asleep for three days.

I’m still liking the looks of Walbert Urena and will enjoy following him in the minors. Ynoa has kind of slipped onto that list too. I am waiting for one more solid start from Klassen before I get excited about him maybe breaking camp with the team. Dana has to get over that STD he got, so we’ll see him in the MiLB too.

Everyone else just seems like a mess of on/off pitch to pitch ST pitchers. Or they are Kikuchi.

I still, weirdly, think Luke Murphy may show up and be solid in The Heim some day. Why? I don’t know.

LOL – Gitcho.

Yes, YES, bow before Georgie Sunshine — the man we got in exchange for Griffin Canning (pour one out, or actually don’t, it’s fine) — who last year hit .215 and then threw his back out like a guy moving a couch on Craigslist. And NOW, in the sample size of roughly fourteen at-bats in spring or WBC action, suddenly he’s a 1.050 OPS machine and Angels Twitter is out here doing tarot readings about whether we flip him at the deadline for a shortstop prospect.

He’s 34. He’s on $13 million. His back makes sounds. And yet — AND YET — there he stands, svelte in the Arizona sun, swinging that gorgeous violent hack of his like a man who has absolutely nothing to prove and somehow keeps proving it anyway.

“El Crudo.” The Raw One. Uncooked. Possibly underrated. Definitely confusing.
Look, we’ve been gasping in that dark corner for a WHILE now. We named a cat after Mike Trout and watched it also get injured. So if Georgie Sunshine wants to waltz in here with his Cuban power stroke and his mysteriously healed lumbar spine and give us something — ANYTHING — to talk about that isn’t the pitching staff… then fine. FINE. We’ll take it.

Just don’t ask us to get attached. We know how this goes.

Never, and I mean never, doubt a professional athlete in a contract year.

Soler playing in 150 games and hitting 30+ bombs is guaranteed

Purely anecdotal — every time I follow Gameday, I see that Grissom is smacking the ball over 100 mph. Peraza is punishing some balls himself.

Pitching pipeline has delivered the type of intrigue I thought and our infield battle has been AWESOME. Candleman wants a job.

I am ready for Opening Day

Teo becoming a viable major leaguer would bring me so much joy.

Hoping that Adam Frazier having a great camp means we can send Moore to the minors. I love that they already made the call with Rada to send him back down.

New Jersey Patch? Foundation Building Materials, the current jersey patch, sold to Lowe’s Home Improvement last year for $8.8 billion. The agency, Oak View Group, will now try to sell Angels’ jersey patch sponsorship. They have sold patches for NHL (Islanders, Wild, Kraken, Hurricanes) and NBA (Trail Blazers)

This next season, at least, they will be lucky to get Laughing Clown Malt Liquor as their jersey sponsor.

If “Laughing Clown” passes on the sponsorship, there’s always Maypax.

But but but we are a LOS ANGELES team. The big market. The patch should sell itself because the Angels play in LA.

We cannot take Mexico lightly today – they are pounding the ball. Of course, they haven’t been facing Paul Skenes. ¡Suerte con eso!

I was at the US/Mexico matchup in 2023 and it was one of the most hype atmospheres I’ve ever been to for sports. Should be a good one tonight
