The Angels reassigned Nelson Rada to minor league camp. Sam Aldegheri struck out eight as Team Italy beat Team Brazil.

The Phillies extended left-hander Jesus Luzardo in a five year deal worth $135 Million. The Giants will re-sign Joey Lucchesi to a minor league deal. The Nationals will sign Zack Littell leaving Lucas Giolito as the sole remaining unsigned member of the MLBTR Top 50 Free Agents list.

Braves left-hander Joey Wentz will miss 2026 due to a torn ACL. Rockies right-hander RJ Petit has a UCL sprain. He’s a Rule 5 guy, so the Rockies will need to decide some things.

Reminds me of when Molina had to stop play for EVERY at bat Pujols had upon his return to St Louis. After a while you’re like “Dude. You know he’s on the other team right? Just give him a big hug after the game and try and keep your lips off his ass till after we win.” But nope. Morons need moments.

A nice bunch of Los Ninos have been doing well in our camp too. I thought that our farm was AMAZINGLY down last year. For most of the season every single guy I thought might be interesting, pitching or hitting, scuffled BADLY almost all year accept Rada and Raudi.

Things may be a little more normal this go round. We won’t be good by any stretch but we will hopefully see a half dozen kids come into their own a little…. like I still wish upon Randy DeJesus developing into a prospect we care about.

I was randomly wearing a Royals hat last night and parked myself with some guys to watch the first few innings of the game before band practice. One of them was like “You like the Royals? Why?” And I told him George Brett, Bo Jackson and Bobby Witt Jr…. literally a couple pitches before he made that first diving catch and throw from the knees play. I said, “and he hits the shit out of the ball too”. My friend said “I kind of like the Royals now too….”

What’s crazy is Neto is REALLY GOOD and Witt makes him look like a hobo.

Yep – and I love Neto. One of my favorite guys to watch. My close buddy coaches Bobby in the offseason on his infield play. They only work challenge plays and turning those into routine. Here’s a guy that already got paid, and he’s working in the offseason on taking his defense to a new level. Brings in his teammates too.

I love Neto too. He’s a man and a half.

But Witt is just crazy, and I love that as soon as he had himself a huge season, and everyone in every major market started counting the years till the Royals would have to trade him before he pulls up stakes for a better team with better fans and better money who deserves him more, he signs a huge long term contract to stay with the Royals.

That type of thing shows me he looked at how much Royals fans love George Brett, Alex Gordon etc and, as a YOUNG GUY thought to himself “I want to be like George Brett to these folks.” instead of dwelling on how he could make 500M as a free agent. That’s awesome.

I just tried to watch the cinema film called The Cleaner staring Daisy Ridley and about four minutes of Clive Owen and a magical autistic character. It was so pointless it was like trying to shit a tennis ball while trying to reason out how and why you swallowed a tennis ball.

That would be what paying Giolito would be like for us.
